A new breakthrough in the suspected murder of Karen Ristevski has emerged.

On April 18 2019, Borce Ristevski was sentenced to nine years in prison for the death of Karen Ristevski.

A breakthrough in the case of murdered Melbourne mother Karen Ristevski has emerged, with Victoria Police releasing CCTV footage of what they believe is her car being driven towards her final resting place.

Footage of the black Mercedes Benz SLK coupe was captured on the day the 47-year-old Avondale Heights mum went missing on June 29 last year, with the car travelling through Diggers Rest, towards Mt Macedon.

Ms Ristevski was reported missing the next day, after having last been seen at her Avondale Heights home by her husband, Borce Ristevski.

Her body was found in a bushland at Mt Macedon on February 20 this year.

Detectives have spoken to the registered owners of similar vehicles about their activities on the day Ms Ristevski went missing, but some owners are yet to be spoken to.

Police are urging that any owners or drivers of black 2004 to 2006 Mercedes Benz coupes, who have not yet been approached, to contact police.

They are also keen to talk to anyone who may have been in the Diggers Rest, Gisborne or the Mt Macedon areas about midday on June 29 last year and who may have seen a vehicle matching the description, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
