Earlier this year, Aussie comedian Jordan Raskopoulos shaved off the iconic beard. Being one-third of band Axis of Awesome, it had previously been a symbol in their 10-year history.
But in a new video released today, Raskopoulos has shared the reason for saying goodbye to the beard a year ago. “I am transgender. No shit. That’s right, I’m a girl. I am transgender,” she said.
Raskopoulos also took the opportunity to address the gender dysphoria she says she can remember dealing with “ever since I was a kid.”
In 2014, Raskopoulos decided if she was to have a happy life and future, then she needed to transition.
“I am so much happier,” Raskopoulos said.
