This role is with the peak industry body for a major manufacturing industry. Seen as a contemporary design innovator with key opinion leaders in the industry the association is also recognised for its leadership in research, the development of influential publications widely used in industry and thought leadership on environment and sustainability.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer The Technical Manager is responsible for leading the research agenda, representing the members and industries interests in the immediate and long term. The role is responsible for liaising with government bodies ensuring that the industries interests are well represented in legislation and standards that impact the industry. Provision of technical information and resources to the industry, architects, builders and specifiers is also central to the role.

We are seeking an experienced structural; civil or ceramics engineer. A materials science background would also be relevant. Familiarity with the Australian Standards and Building Codes Standards would be extremely helpful. You will have excellent organisational skills, enjoy working with people, have an energtic and enthusiastic personal style and strong communication skills.
