A newborn has received the ultimate gift after being born in the air.

After making a surprise early entry into the world while on board a Jet Airways flight on Sunday, a newborn boy has been gifted with the ultimate gift, free air travel for life.

The baby boy was born during a flight between Saudi Arabia to India over the weekend, and despite going into labour while at an altitude of 35,000 feet, both mother and son are doing well thanks to the flight’s crew members and a nurse onboard the 162-seater plane.

According to a statement released by Jet Airways, the flight diverted to Mumbai, where the pair were taken to hospital for observation following the birth.

Announcing their gift to the newborn, Jet Airways shared an e-card image via their Twitter account that read, “Dear Dad, I’m sure you couldn’t have wished for a better gift this Father’s Day.

“It’s amazing how the world is talking about my arrival on board Jet Airways flight… I thank mom for her indomitable spirit and the Cabin Crew’s best efforts in helping me come into this world.

“And yes, I finally thank Jet Airways for gifting me a lifetime of free travel. This means more travel is on the cards, more fun outings with you and mom, and more of exploring this beautiful world.”

The card ended, “They say, you are lucky when you are born with a silver spoon. I say you are lucky when you are born with wings to fly.”

The Indian-based airline currently travels to 65 destinations around the world.

Some babies just have all the luck.
