Jessica Alba and her 'natural products' are in trouble. AGAIN.

Uh oh. Jessica Alba is being sued for telling fibs.

The Honest Company is being sued for dishonesty. You can’t make this stuff up.

It hasn’t been a good year for the Honest Company. Jessica’s non-toxic all-natural household products organisation was being slandered over the internet just last month when their natural sunscreen proceeded to leave a lot of people badly sunburned.

And now, a class-action lawsuit has been filed, suing the Honest Company for US$5 million in damages. The plaintiffs are accusing the company of “deceptively and misleadingly” labelling their products, claiming that some products are natural when they actually contain synthetic ingredients like Methylisothiazolinone and Phenoxyethanol.

Do you know the best way to piss off people who like buying all-natural products? SYNTHETIC INGREDIENTS with LONG NAMES.

In response to the lawsuit, Jessica released a statement on the company’s behalf, calling the lawsuit ‘baseless’;

I started The Honest Company to develop safe and effective products not just for my children, but for families everywhere. I am very proud that we have built this company into an industry leader focused on using natural ingredients and developing products that people love.

We believe that consumers deserve to know what’s in their products — whether it’s diapers for their children, cleaning products for their families or beauty products for themselves. Our formulations are made with integrity and strict standards of safety, and we label each ingredient that goes into every product – not because we have to, but because it’s the right thing to do.

The allegations against us are baseless and without merit. We strongly stand behind our products and the responsibility we have to our consumers. We are steadfast in our commitment to transparency and openness.

I know my children, Honor and Haven, are growing up in a safer home because of our products.

I was with you until those obnoxious hippy kids’ names, Alba.

I’m a bit of a cynic when it comes to the organic movement, so I’m not the target market for natural stuff. You know what else is natural? Chlamydia. Blowflies. Dog shit. Not all natural things are nice. If my sunscreen has a few cancer-preventing chemicals in it, slather me up. Just being HONEST, company.

But for the people who really do care, who only want natural things in their natural products, Jessica and her fancy hippy company have some serious ‘splaining to do’.

Luckily for her (and daughters Honor and Haven), Jessica’s company is worth US$ 1.7 billion.

A pesky little $5 million lawsuit? Petty cash.
