One of the great joys of raising children is witnessing their unflinching honesty first hand… and often being on the receiving end of it.
Just ask Jessica Rowe, whose eldest daughter had a very candid reaction to seeing her mother naked recently.
During a discussion on Wednesday's episode of Studio 10, the co-host said Allegra had responded with question. Brace yourselves, this is an absolute corker:
"What's that big black furry thing?"
Naturally, the entire panel dissolved into giggles. Watch the hilarity below.
The mum-of-two's answer was equally straightforward.
"I said, 'That is my vagina'," she told the panel.
Excellent answer, Jess. A+.
Listen: Our parenting podcast This Glorious Mess covers all the awkward moments. (Post continues after audio.)
The conversation had been prompted by a pregnancy announcement shared on Instagram by actress Jenny Mollen yesterday.
In the photo, Jenny is seen posing in the shower — yes, naked — next to her son Sid.

Goodness gracious me. Why are people such prudes?! I grew up in a house where nudity was 'normal' until I left home at 21. Just my parents though and both my brother and I were much more body conscious and private! My boys are being raised in the same way and no-one bats an eyelid. We are an open and honest household and have had few 'strange questions' along the way. We are family all cut from the same blood and genes. My boys will no doubt find that time when they want their privacy at home - having already found their boundaries when out in change rooms and other houses which is very important and a sign that they know what is appropriate in different situations. Having two boys may be different to how I grew up with different sex siblings and I look forward to finding out how things pan out.
In the interests of clarity for children who are learning, "that's my vagina" is not an A+ answer. The answer should have been "that is my pubic hair". If a child pointed to his dad's beard and asked what is that, his dad wouldn't answer "that's my oesophagus"!!
