Jennifer Garner says People Magazine have used 'post-divorce' article without her approval.

Any discerning magazine reader knows that just because a celebrity appears smiling on the front cover it doesn’t necessarily mean she’s been spoken to for the story.

It’s not every day the celebrity in question calls them out on it, though.

But that’s exactly what happened when Jennifer Garner condemned People magazine’s ‘unauthorised’ cover story on Wednesday.

“Life After Heartbreak”, the headline reads next to Garner’s smiling face. “Since ending her troubled marriage to ‘love of her life’ Ben Affleck, she’s moving on, finding happiness, and starting over at 45.”

Sounds like it was an in-depth interview with the star, right? Well, it wasn’t and Garner took to her verified Facebook account to “set the record straight”.

“It has been brought to my attention that there is a People magazine cover and article out today that appear to be coming from me,” the mum-of-three said.

“It isn’t unusual for me to receive calls from loved ones thinking I forgot to tell them I am pregnant–with twins!–(Geez Louise), but those are so ridiculous they’re easy to ignore.”

The star said she wanted to get in before her mother’s friends started calling her and took the opportunity to say how complete her life was.

“This isn’t a tragedy by any measure, but it does affect me and my family and so, before my mom’s garden club lights up her phone, I wanted to set the record straight: I did not pose for this cover. I did not participate in or authorise this article.”

“While we are here, for what it’s worth: I have three wonderful kids and my family is complete.”

Wishing her followers a “beautiful day” she signed off, leaving thousands of fans to like and share the post.

The article in question relies on various unnamed sources for tidbits on the 45-year-old’s life, including how “relieved” she was to have finally filed for divorce from her husband of more than a decade, Ben Affleck.
