iVillage Australia has appointed Alana House to the position of Editor.
Alana has 20 years experience in women’s media and has worked on a wide variety of titles, from young women’s lifestyle magazines Cleo and Cosmopolitan, to high-fashion title Harper’s Bazaar and weekly magazine, Woman’s Day.

Publisher of Mamamia and iVillage Australia, Mia Freedman says that Alana is one of the few magazine editors who has successfully made the transition from print to online.

iVillage is the USA’s largest and most successful women’s lifestyle website and also has a presence in the UK and Canada. The local version of the website began in July 2012 after Mamamia was chosen as iVillage’s partner to launch in Australia.
Together the iVillage Australia and Mamamia websites reach more than 1.2 million unique browsers each month and upwards of 14 million page impressions.
The community atmosphere and parenting focus of iVillage provides the perfect complement with Mamamia’s more edgy and opinion-leading content. Combined, the websites cater to the full spectrum of Australian women’s interests.
