Sam Armytage gets the boot after awful Sunrise interview with Kristin Davis.

Samantha Armytage was supposed to host a UNHCR lunch featuring Kristin Davis today to allow Davis to share her stories and experiences with the UN.

But it appears that’s not going to happen after all, with a spokesperson for UNHCR told The Guardian:

“I can confirm that Sam Armytage will not be hosting the lunch today.”

“The MC will be Australia for UNHCR national director Naomi Steer.”

Sam and Kochie have confirmed organisers asked Sam not to attend the event following an awkward interview with the star on yesterday’s episode of Sunrise, which saw the cast force Davis to reprise her role as Charlotte on Sex and the City.

“I was asked to MC (an) event and conduct a Q and A with Kristin on stage and I immediately accepted,” Armytage said earlier today.

“Since our interview yesterday, organisers have asked Sam not to host the event now or to attend it at all, which was unexpected,” co-host David Koch added.

Mamamia previously reported….

Davis, 50, who’s best known for her role on Sex and the City (which ended 12 years ago), is visiting Sydney to speak about her important work with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

Of course, when she appeared on Sunrise yesterday all Kochie and co wanted to talk about was Sex and the City, and peppered her with questions about the show, which Davis stoically answered.

Then Sam Armytage and Kochie threw to a clip of her in character as Charlotte York in a scene in which she suffered explosive diarrhea.

“No, no, no, no, no!” Davis protested.

Not only was it not funny, it was rude.

Is that any way of treating a guest? Davis actually had to ask them to stop playing the clip.

It got so much worse.

She was then led to another part of the studio where Sunrise hosts Natalie Barr, Edwina Bartholomew and Armytage were dressed in ridiculous wigs as the other Sex and the City characters.

Davis’s face, when they began reading through a scene from the show, was one of horror and bewilderment.

“I don’t know if this is a great idea, frankly,” she told them.

“No offence, but you know… you know… you’re very brave.”

Once they cut to a commercial and Davis was allowed to escape, she tweeted her extreme distaste for the entire circus in response to a tweet by Sunrise (which has now been deleted).

Hopefully today will be Armytage’s chance to ask Davis about her important work with the UNHCR.
