Drum roll, please: the winner of I'm a Celebrity is...

First, the crown went to Freddie Flintoff. A year later, Brendan Fevola was named king of the jungle.

As of Monday night, we have a third I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here Australia champion. And it’s finally, FINALLY a woman.

Australia, bow down to your queen of the jungle: Casey Donovan. And what a deserving queen she is.

Donovan’s victory grants her lifelong bragging rights — how many people can say they’ve won two reality TV competitions? — but it also represents $100,000 worth of prize money for her chosen charity, the Starlight Foundation.

Monday’s finale saw the show’s three remaining contestants, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Dane Swan and Donovan, subjected to one last physical challenge. (Surely they didn’t think they’d escape with their dignity in tact…?)

Thankfully, this time there was a slightly more exciting reward waiting for them afterwards than a few hunks of meat for dinner.

Not only had the stars' campsite been decked out with proper mattresses and a spa (with hot water, to boot), but their usual beans-and-rice meal was replaces with a gourmet dinner and dessert.

Bassingthwaighte, whose charity of choice was the wonderful Sister2Sister program, narrowly missed out on a spot in the final two.

However, this wouldn't have come as a surprise to any viewers who'd been listening carefully about 10 minutes before the actress left the campsite.

During a live cross with the two most recent eliminees — Nazeem Hussain and Steve Price — hosts Julia Morris and Chris Brown asked which of the trio they'd like to see take the crown.

Hussain declared he'd be happy for anyone to win, which made it sad for him that "Nat has come third."

Cue: an incredibly awkward cover-up attempt from Morris. Unfortunately for her, and for Channel 10's producers, Hussain's slip of the tongue didn't go unnoticed.

The clearly sheepish comedian got in on the Twitter action as well:

Ah, the perils of live television.

A big congratulations to Casey Donovan, and we can't wait until your album of campsite tunes is released. ("Show Us Your Teeth" is a certifiable banger.)

Who did you think would win?
