Dear Sally and Sam, I am just back from a work trip in which I came upon your book at the airport. I have never read a book so fast in my life. And I have to say I found it impossible to hold back the tears from page to page. It’s is truly amazing how far you and Sam have come and I wanted to write to you immediately to tell you what an inspiration you both are. The love you share is so admiral and I will never take my own relationship for granted after reading your love story. I am also getting married next year a month after you and Sam plan to. I will be thinking of you and I hope you have the fairy tale ending that you both deserve. And I’m sure it will be magical. Keep asking your angels to help and guide you they are always around you.

Sally you rock! My son was in an auto accident and suffered a TBI at 21 years of age.The video of Sam and how active he was, reminds me of him. Anyway, here we are 7 years later. Most of the doctors also thought we were crazy to have hope, because he was in a vegetative state. He has issues he deals with on a daily basis, but is doing remarkable considering what they expected. His girlfriend didn’t stick around for more than a couple months, even though she told me, had he proposed, she would have said yes. This I understood, it’s a difficulty that most people are unable, or unwilling to face. You show such love and amazing strength of character. You truly are a beautiful woman, inside and out. Sam is a lucky man to have you by his side in the fight of his life. My son was actually able to go back to work after 2 years. Most people can’t even tell what he’s been dealt and continues to face, because he’s progressed so far. I understand every brain injury is unique, but do not give up hope. You both will be in my prayers.
I would like the opportunity to share my experience with my 26 yr old son who suffered a hypoxic brain injury and his recovery. If interested I would be happy to speak to you.
