How to do perfect bridesmaid hair 2016 style.

Deciding on bridesmaid dresses is difficult enough – how to choose a colour, style and material that will suit each of your lucky ladies (while also not showing you up too much)?

Choosing a hair style is another level of difficulty, again with countless options involved. Do you decide on one style, to be worn by each bridesmaid, meaning you have to account for the length and texture of each head of hair? Alternatively, do you allow for more freedom? Asking each bridesmaid to do as she pleases. Maybe you have conditions to this freedom – it has to be an updo, or completely free-flowing. Or maybe you are the ultimate “bridechiller” and the style of ‘do is really, entirely up to each bridesmaid.

The options, as with everything it seems in weddings, are endless.

Here are the bridesmaid hair trends you need to know now.

Same, same

Having the same hairstyle for each of your bridesmaids adds a touch of traditional formality to the bridal party.

It also draws attention to you, the bride (and arguably the most important person in the room). Typically, the bride will opt for a different style to stand out. This can be particularly effective if the bridesmaids are given up-dos, and the bride is left with longer tresses.

Mixing things up

By mixing it up, the bridesmaids and hairdresser can work together to find the best styles to suit each individual’s face and colouring.

In some cases, you might request all bridesmaids to have their hair ‘up’ but the way it’s done might be slightly different for each of them.

On the other hand, you might allow for complete freedom. This is particularly important if one of your bridesmaids has shorter hair – you can’t have everyone else with a braided up-do, and the short-haired bridesmaid being the odd one out. It’s best to go for consistent variety.
