First it was #BendGate, and now the Apple iPhone 6 launch has been rocked by a #HairGate scandal.

According to Business Insider, iPhone 6 users are complaining that their hair is getting ripped out when making phone calls.

A thread on the 9to5Mac community forum reveals it’s the miniscule seam between the glass and aluminum on the front of the phone where hair is getting trapped. When you go to hang up your call, strands are caught in the seam causing the hair to be ripped out when you try to free it.

It’s not only women who are experiencing this Very Important Problem, men with beards are also suffering.

Sure, it’s the epitome of first world problems, but when you’re paying $869-$999 for the latest technology; the last thing you expect is patchy baldness as an added extra.

There’s a few of us in the wider Mamamia office who have upgraded to the iPhone 6 and haven’t experienced this problem, but for the rest of us who can’t afford to or don't have the inclination to we’re feeling quite smug this morning.

If you do have the iPhone 6 and are experiencing this problem, you can return the phone to Apple for a full refund.

Will this dissuade you from buying the iPhone 6?

Here are our favourite technology gadgets that WON'T yank your hair out.
