Giaan Rooney has welcomed her second baby into the world.

Two weeks ahead of schedule, former Olympic swimmer Giaan Rooney has welcomed her second child with her husband of six years, Sam Levett.

The 34-year-shared the news via her Instagram account on Thursday, writing, “Thrilled to announce the safe arrival of our precious daughter, Alexa (Lexi) Leigh Levett at 2.20pm on the 14th of June!”

Lexi is the couple’s second child and a younger sister to the couple’s three-year-old son, Zander.

Her post continued, “Mum is very glad she decided to come out over 2 weeks early as she weighed in at 4.06kg (8’15”) so didn’t need any more cooking!”

Finally, the television presenter shared, “Dad, @theherdonline participated in delivery & is besotted whilst Zander is yet to meet his little sister but ‘doesn’t want to talk about it anymore’ apparently! All doing very well & enjoying our little blissful bubble!”

Rooney announced her pregnancy in late December, sharing a photo of herself alongside Zander, who was trying to drill at her stomach.

“We are very excited that Zander will be a big brother to a baby sister mid next year!” she wrote, adding, “When we tried to explain that Mummy had a baby in her belly, Zander offered to drill it out…. He’ll be a great big brother.”
