Gable Tostee trial: Murder accused ordered pizza after Warriena Wright's fall, court hears.

Gable Tostee ordered a slice of pizza while walking alone around Surfers Paradise shortly after Warriena Wright fell to her death from his apartment balcony in 2014, a Brisbane court has heard.

Tostee, 30, pleaded not guilty to murdering the 26-year-old New Zealand tourist, whom he met that night via dating app Tinder.

The pair’s exchange on Tinder in the lead up to the meeting was tendered to court today, where Tostee told Ms Wright she looked “delicious”.

Ms Wright fell from Tostee’s 14th floor balcony about four hours after the pair arrived at the Avalon apartment complex and after the relationship turned violent.

CCTV played in the Supreme Court today shows when Tostee and Ms Wright met around 8:45pm in the Cavill Mall at Surfers Paradise

The 40-minute video showed the pair embraced and then made their way to the Surfers Paradise Beer Garden, where they spent a short time.

The pair could then be seen walking to a nearby bottle shop, where Tostee bought a six pack of beer.

By around 8:52pm — seven minutes after they met — the pair was seen entering the Avalon apartment complex where Tostee lived.

The vision then jumped to 2:25am the next day where Tostee could be seen leaving his apartment building through the basement.

Tostee was then seen walking alone around Surfers Paradise for more than an hour, during which time the prosecution alleged he ordered a slice of pizza at a shop and was then picked up by his father.

The CCTV was made up of vision from council cameras and security cameras from the apartment complex.

Photos of Tostee’s injuries were tendered to court today, from when he reported to police on the day Ms Wright died.

A forensic officer told the court she could not put a timeline on when the injuries occurred, or if they were inflicted by Ms Wright.

Freak in the sheets?

The pair first started messaging each other on Tinder about August 1 and arranged to meet in person days later.

Tostee told Ms Wright she looked “delicious” and he wanted to do “dirty things”.

Their Tinder conversation and text messages were tendered in court.

Their exchanges also showed Tostee asking Ms Wright — who used the name Cletus in some online profiles — whether she was a “freak in the sheets”.

Tostee: Hey you sexy slack jawed yokel

Wright: Lol Hey. Had a few people [think] that’s my real name…

Tostee: Is it? Gable and Cletus sitting in a tree…

Wright: Sounds good lol

Tostee: You look delicious. I want to do dirty things to you

Wright: That usually work?

Tostee: Haha, not trying to make anything “work”, I’m just saying. Got a problem with that? :p

Wright: Lol fair enough. I was just asking :p

Tostee: So you’re down with that then? Can you be a freak in the sheets Cletes (sic)?

Wright: Lol probably not. Depends.

Mobile phone recording of Wright’s final moments

Yesterday, the jury was played a recording of the final moments of Ms Wright’s life, from Tostee’s mobile phone, which included her heated conversation with him before he locked her on his balcony.

The court also heard from several of Tostee’s neighbours who heard Ms Wright screaming and pleading to go home.

Three people recalled seeing her fall to her death.

The recording included Tostee’s conversation with his father in which he tells him Ms Wright had just fallen off his balcony.

“I’m f***ed, I don’t know what to do. I didn’t cause this, I didn’t push her or anything,” Tostee told his father at the time.
