When I was young like 5 years old, I'm told that I liked fish. We were a family of seven so whenever my father caught fish the family ate it. One day he came home with a Texas Buffalo fish and after that meal I couldn't tolerate the smell of fish and to this day I can't. I had a 200 gal salt water aquarium set up in my kitchen and to my surprise I couldn't eat in my kitchen. Eventually had to move it to another room. This is obviously some kind of physiological problem for me. My poor husband is from Louisiana where they eat all kinds of fish including mud bugs or as he calls them crawfish. We've been married for 17 years and tolerates my intolerance with so much grace.

I don't like peas.

There I said it.
I will eat pretty much everything else, but even the most picky eaters look at me in wonder and say 'Peas!? What's wrong with peas?'

Ok i'll admit it I am a fussy eater.

Yes i do have food allergies so that doesn't help either. Food allergies were something i slowly started to discover as i got older so my family doesn't take them seriously. I am allergic to

Bananas, Sultanas, Figs, cabbage, Green Beans, Peanuts, walnuts, macadamia nuts, hazelnuts

For new years my lil sis was like I am going to make Banana muffins, you cant eat them can you.

I was like. "no"

My older sister was like, even if its cooked.

I was like hello there is still banana in it.

i dont like pork, but love bacon and will eat ham sandwiches occasionally.

I also dont like food cooked on Webber BBQ. To me it taste like ash. Got into massive fight with hubby at Xmas time as he said we were having a BBQ at his parents. Then he mentioned lamb which i dont eat either. He assured me there would be normal BBQ food there to like steak and sausages, which there was. But when i get there i see its on the webber. I am like ummm thats not BBQ. Fight again because he doesn't know what to feed me.

I dont mind fish and i have recently started eating salmon as long as its over cooked.

But i hate how people can be so judgmental about what one doesn't eat. The looks you get is unbelievable. Its like i dont call you a pig for eating everything why call me weird because i am selective

Running late with reading my Mamamia articles, hence the delayed reply.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one who doesn't eat fish - can't stand the taste or the smell or the texture. The stuff in the cans smells like cat food, so can't even think about tuna sandwiches at lunchtime.

Still trying to work out how to get my Omega-3s into me, just the thought of taking capsules that might have fish products in them makes me gag.

Nice to know I'm not alone - thanks Kate for a great article

This article made me laugh, more so because of the amount of times people have tried to convince you that you just haven't had the right fish!
I dont like lamb or veal. Most seafood I am ok with, I can appreciate prawns, but I wouldn't choose them.
My biggest thing is each to their own, if you dont like something then dont eat it, unless you are making me change my entire dinner party plan, I'm sure I will have provided something you will eat, and there's no problems.
Its like convincing a larger person (hell even a skinnier person for this example) they will love skin tight Lycra, they just haven't found they right outfit. No, I'm pretty sure I will never like Lycra :)

I agree - I've always wished I liked cheese as it is such a staple of socialising but the smell, texture and taste is just too much. I thought I was the only person who liked pizza without cheese (much to my family's embarrassment!)
