These are the questions we want to ask this February 29th.

February 29, it comes around once every four years and tradition says it is the one day of the year women can ask men to marry them.

SAY WHAT? (Sound of needle screeching on a record player).

Tradition also said for the longest of times that women weren’t allowed to work. Then they were allowed to work but had to stop as soon as they were married. Then they were allowed to work when they were married but had to stop when they became pregnant (no yucky big bellies in the office that screamed sex thank-you-very-much).

Then they were allowed to work after they had babies but weren’t paid the same as men.

Happy days.

So, knock yourself out, ask a man – or woman – to marry you this February 29, but also ask the questions you’ve been wanting the answers to for a long, long time.

If you can’t ask the unaskable today, when can you do it?

Oh, and don’t say tomorrow.
