The top 10 celebrity stories you missed this week.

A lot has been happening on Planet Fluff this week. Here’s what you need to know:

1. Golden Globes:The moments that everyone are talking about? Jodie Foster’s somewhat rambling, at times angry and sarcastic but very heartfelt speech in which she opened up about her sexuality, loneliness and her kids. Must-watch. See the speech here.

Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence are NOT dating. Okay, Bradley, we got it!

Other celebrity revelations from the evening: Bradley Cooper denying that – despite their amazing on-screen chemistry – he and co-star Jennifer Lawrence in The Silver Linings Playbook are not dating. US Weekly reports that when questioned about the rumoured romance, Cooper responded:

“Oh my God. That’s very funny. No, my God. No…  We’ve done two movies together. If it didn’t happen by now, it’s not going to happen. No, no, no, no, no. Not even close. First of all, I could be her father. No, I’m kidding. But no, not even close.”

So… That’s a ‘no’, then?

Another must-see moment: Taylor Swift’s reaction to Adele winning Best original Song for “Skyfall”. Ms Swift was nominated for the same award for a song she contributed to The Hunger Games. While Adele charmed the crowd with her giggly acceptance speech, Taylor was caught on camera doing this:

3. Britney Spears has ended her engagement to her fiance/guardian, Jason Trawick. The 31-year-old mother of two was engaged to 41-year-old Trawick for just over a year.

Britney’s rep, Jeff Raymond, released a statement saying: “Britney Spears and Jason Trawick have mutually agreed to end their one-year engagement. As two mature adults, they came to the difficult decision to go their separate ways while continuing to remain friends.”

Britney also confirmed the breakup, announcing in the statement:

“Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement. I’ll always adore him and we will remain great friends.”

Jason originally proposed to Britney during an intimate dinner on his 40th birthday in December 2011. It would have been the third marriage for Britney. She married Jason Alexander in Las Vegas in 2004 (and divorced him 55 hours later) and in 2007 she married the father of her two sons, Kevin Federline. Recently, Federline’s brother claimed to be the true father of those children but that’s a whole other (messy) story.

5. We’re “Friends, not lovers.” That’s how Les Miserables star Russell Crowe has described his relationship with burlesque star Dita von Teese.

Crowe has been forced to clarify the nature of the pair’s relationship, after rumours that the two were having “couple massages” together, circulated last week.

So Crowe sent a tweet this week denying the relationship:

Strangely, the tweet was deleted soon after it was sent.

48-year-old Crowe split from his wife Danielle Spencer in October last year after nine years of marriage. The couple have two children together – Charles and Tennyson.

7. So it turns out that Ryan Gosling nearly did this…… .

Ryan Gosling: the Backstreet Boy that got away.

The Drive star recently admitted that he was asked to join the baggy-panted, floppy haired boy band Backstrees Boys by his former neighbour, Backstreet Boy AJ McLean.

Gosling initially rejected the offer, telling McLean, “‘it’s never going to happen. Didn’t they already do that with New Kids [on the Block]?” Bam.

Gosling then had a change of heart, but McLean never returned his call. That’s right – even Ryan Gosling is left waiting by the phone sometimes.

And even though the opportunity never eventuated, let us just pause and entertain the thought of Ryan as a Backstreet Boy for one moment. Ryan, open-shirted, singing in front of a wind machine, wearing a jaunty little hat and doing some coordinated dance moves with dinning room chairs…

Actually, maybe scratch that thought.

9. Liz Hurley abuses a Channel 10 reporter at Perth Airport.

Sports presenter Caty Price was attempting to interview Hurley’s fiancee, Shane Warne, following Wednesday’s Big Bash League match when the star turned.

In an interview with 6PR radio, Price said Hurley walked into the back of her and told her it was “rude to stand in front of people.”

“I then asked her, ‘Liz what did you think of the game last night?’ and she spun around on her heels and said ‘I think you should…’ mouthed to me close up to my face ‘F off.’,” Price continued. Hurley then did “another spin and flick of the hair” before strutting off and smiling smugly at Shane.

And of course the incident was caught on camera. Take a look here:
