Madonna has come out in defence of Tom Cruise after meeting him at her Malawi benefit.
She said, “I don’t care if people
worship turtles or frogs – if they’re good people, that’s all I care
about, and he (Cruise) is a good person. I think he gets a raw deal,
just as I think the orphans in Malawi get a raw deal; just as I think a
lot of marginalized people get a raw deal.”
Tom Cruise is the world’s most powerful movie star. Marginalised?
Tom Cruise is a multi-multi-multi-millionaire. MARGINALISED?
Tom Cruise uses his position of power to criticise and condemn vulnerable people who use medication to treat their mental illnesses including post-natal depression.
He uses his platform of international media attention to broadcast his views CONSTANTLY.
Marginalised? Like an orphan in Malawi? Give me a break.
I’m all for people having their own beliefs. You can be a scientologist or, as Madonna suggests, worship frogs and turtles. More power to you.
But don’t go ramming your beliefs down the throats of others as Mr Cruise is so famous for doing.

Scientology is not a religion, it's a money making cult. They harm their own children, people who choose a different path are vilified and thrown out of their families, and this is all based on L. Ron Hubbard's decision (stated) that he would "make up" his own religion to make money - he was quite up-front about it all.
Tom Cruise is a proponent of a cult that does all the above and also vilifies people who seriously need medication to treat mental illness. Yes, our society is over-medicated, but there are people who need antidepressants and mood stabilisers and who would die without them (i.e. suicide).
There is no way this man should get any publicity other than for the films he makes - we don't want to hear about his beliefs and he should not publicly endorse them - all we need is fans becoming converts.
As for the idea that Madonna should align his cause with that of orphan children - perhaps a mood stabiliser is in order? :)
I am not a fan of either of these people. I agree that someone should be free to have their own opinions, but no-one (no matter who they are) has the right to judge others about how they deal with their personal issues - unless of course their method of dealing with things involves hurting others.
