Pop star Pink is a fan of Instagram.
This week she tweeted a picture of herself nursing one-year-old daughter, Willow.
Alongside the photo, she wrote: “Lunchtime at my album photoshoot. Deborah Anderson takes some purty pictures:)” ‘Purty’ for sure!”

Pink tweeted this picture.
Last month Pink weighed in on the TIME magazine attachment parenting article by tweeting “I felt that the article in TIME on attachment parenting was unfortunately a tad extreme. I support attachment parenting 100%… And have a very happy and healthy little girl to show for it. It’s time we support what’s healthy (breastfeeding) instead of judge it.”

Gorgeous picture of the brilliant, fabulous P!NK!!
And an album photoshoot must mean a new album is on the way!!! YAAAYYY!!!!!

If she’s breast feeding then she must have the longest nipples known to man! The angle’s all wrong too. Mums know what breast feeding looks like, and it doesn’t look like this

She is definitely not breastfeeding in this pic but good on her for being proud of feeding in a way she feels comfortable with. Do what works and thats that really ? If it wasnt in our faces allllll the time it wouldnt be such a big issue !

I dont think she is actually breastfeeding in this pic (you can see too much of babys face for her to be attached) but probably she was mid or post feed… anyway – its a gorgeous pic anyway!

I freakin’ love Pink!

Great picture. I love it. Pink is cool. Why wouldn’t you breastfeed if you can. Much easier and more nutritious than a bottle. I got sick of it after about a year with each of my three kids but they took a little longer to wean. Breast milk is best. What is attachment parenting??

Ali I’m sure at one year old the baby is eating solids but you can breast feed as well as just give baby’s solids , I did it for 2 years

Go Sharon!
My little one is 12 months and I don’t want to give it up.

I think it’s wonderful for Pink to be publicly supporting breastfeeding. Breastfeeding needs to become more mainstream so that breastfeeding in public becomes a more socially acceptable thing to do.

Who cares about ‘socially acceptable’? I don’t care who looks, stares or judges me. I’ll breast feed when and wherever I want. Women need to focus on their instincts rather than the influences. So whilst this pic is beautiful, it doesn’t affirm me in any way!

A lot of women care. One of the main reasons women don’t like to breastfeed in public is that they are worried about what other people will think or that they will get stares and comments. If breastfeeding was seen as more of a social norm then that fear would be taken away.
I’m glad that you are so confident breastfeeding in public. I have no issues either and proudly feed my 10 month old whenever she wishes. That doesn’t mean that other mothers feel the same.

I guess I just don’t understand the insecurity. I also feel a great sense of pride doing it. It’s a miracle that our bodies can grow a baby and it’s an absolute blessing to be able to continue that nurturing of a little life through breastfeeding! All I can say is, judgement says a lot more about the person doing it, than the one receiving it!

Surely at one the baby woudl be having a bit more than a breastfeed for lunch?
loading...
Just because she talked about it last month
Then said its lunch time …. Holding a baby doesn’t mean she is nursing it
A week or two before she was in hospital on a drip
And expressing milk
She might have a bottle
The story seems incorrect

I feel very fortunate to be able to breastfeed my 6 month old daughter as many people aren’t able. I support every mum out there to do what they feel is best for them and their bub

Really like Pink – she’s just so cool….lovely pic. How lucky is she that she’s still breastfeeding her child who is now 1 (I could only do mine for 6 months) and that she’s able to do so at work. Like seeing this side of Pink, suits her.

i agree.
i love pink.

I have always loved Pink – and I love this. I feel she has struck the right tone with this photo and caption. She is giving her daughter ‘lunch’ – it is totally normal and just another part of her day as a mum. This is what breastfeeding is like for the vast majority of mums out there – no big deal, not a sign of a major life choice or belief, just giving a hungry baby what it needs. Good for you Pink!

Why is breastfeeding such a big deal? I’m pretty sure we as humans wouldn’t be here without it. Formula is a recent invention. So to this article I say ‘yawn.’ It’s bringing attention to a completely normal and uninteresting (except to mother and baby!) human function.

Is she breastfeeding or just cradling her baby? Hard to tell.
loading...
Isn’t that what she means by “lunchtime”? She has no food around her. Gorgeous photo either way!

Yes, you’re probably right.
