lindsay lohan1 380x579 Celeb news: Lindsay Lohan found unconscious in her hotel roomTwenty-five-year-old actress Lindsay Lohan was reportedly found unconscious in her LA hotel room overnight, but her rep has said she was just “exhausted”.

Apparently paramedics rushed to the penthouse suite of the Ritz-Carlton hotel in the west of Los Angeles after an emergency call indicated the actress, who is currently filming an Elizabeth Taylor biopic, was unresponsive. But fire officials said paramedics did not take anyone to a hospital

TMZ reported: “Lindsay wasn’t feeling well after complaining of exhaustion, she called someone from the “Liz and Dick” production team early this morning, and the team sent a private doctor to check on her.  Before arriving, the doctor called the hotel and asked someone to check on Lindsay.  Someone from the hotel went to her door, “checked on her” and determined she was “unresponsive.”  The hotel then called 911.”

Her spokesman later said:

“Lindsay worked a grueling schedule the past few days. She was on set last night at 7 p.m. and worked through the night until 8 a.m. this morning. She took a nap before shooting her final scene. Producers were concerned when she did not come out of her room and called paramedics as a precaution. Lindsay was examined and is fine, but did suffer some exhaustion and dehydration. Lindsay was never taken to a hospital; reports to the contrary are false. She is resting now and is hoping to be back on set later this afternoon.”

I do worry about her – she’s obviously on stuff – but at the same time if I had just worked a 13 hour night shift and had laid down for a nap I think people would have a tough time waking me too.

God please offer Rick anything he wants to come back. In just a week, this place seems to now be lacking substantially in the news and current affairs department (you know, the content you actually use your brain for), while over hyping the usual womans mag celeb / diet / vanity fodder. God please bring him back – I will even chip in.

I hope this isnt a direction shift for MM, as Mia moves towards selling the site to News Ltd. It seems to be getting more and more like all the other trash, which it so much wasnt in the early days….more’s the pity.

I wasn’t going to say anything because I thought it was just me who felt that way. It’s nice to know I’m not alone!

I don’t mean any disrespect, of course, I just miss the posts that didn’t play so much into the typical women’s/mummy blog stereotype.

The site IS called ‘mammamia’! No one is forcing you to read the ‘mummy’ type posts that are boring you! I, for one, enjoy them.

My posts never seem cryptic to me when I write them, but apparently they are because I always have to break them down for one person or other.

“I just miss the posts that didn’t play so much into the typical women’s/mummy blog *stereotype*”

Point being, it’s okay to be a women’s/mummy blog, but it didn’t use to be like the *stereotypical* women’s/mummy blog, which is where the complaint comes from. Many readers have come here precisely because it *wasn’t* the typical blog.

By all means, talk about birth, babies, children and diets, but unless that’s all women and mothers can comprehend, let’s get a bit more breadth. The posts used to be far more diverse and that was a good thing. Also, the readership has always been more diverse than just mothers and women.

But you’re right. No-one is forcing me to read them. However, I have enjoyed reading Mamamia for over 3 years now. At the moment, if I were to avoid the posts that bore me, I would have to avoid Mamamia altogether – which would be a shame, for me, because I had grown so fond of it.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not going to sit and have a cry because Mamamia and I have drifted in different directions; this is the internet, there is plenty more where this came from. However, as I’m obviously not the only one who holds this opinion, it is probably worth expressing it so Mamamia can get feedback and decide whether or not to take it on board. They can take my feedback or leave it, it’s no skin off my nose. The question is whether this shift will attract more readers than it will lose.

Mia & other regular contributors have said on numerous occasions that the site is not called Mamamia because it wants to brand itself as a mummy-centric website, but it is simply a word play on Mia Freedman’s name.

      Wow. Hey guys!
Celebrity news is nothing new. We’ve been doing it for months now (even when Rick was here.) And in terms of news and current affairs – in the last week alone we’ve covered the Azaria Chamberlain story, mental health checks for 3 year olds, the story of Xan Fraser, changes to school rules + much more. And yes everything has a focus on women – that’s because this is a women’s website!
That said… we appreciate the comments and will take them on board :)

Hey Shannon & The Wounded Bull,
While I appreciate your fondness for Rick and that’s something we share – it would be a mistake to make assumptions about the role any individual plays behind the scenes at Mamamia and the influence they have over content.
It’s very much business as usual since Rick left. There has been no departure from our editorial mix.
And grammatical errors and typos will sometimes slip through – just like they do in almost every form of media.
We are now posting seven days a week and that means more posts with the same amount of staff (less actually, since Rick was not replaced).
All I’m saying is that we do our best and we always correct any errors as soon as we become aware of them.

“It’s very much business as usual since Rick left. There has been no departure from our editorial mix.”

Hair-splitting. This statement is technically true, but mainly because the daily news stopped shortly before Rick left.

          Hi Lulu,
The reason the daily news post stopped was because it wasn’t widely enough read. That’s how we judge what is working and what doesn’t.
For a long time it was lagging behind in UBs and page views.
Over the past couple of months (with Rick) we experimented with changing it to Daily Buzz and broadening the subject matter but it just wasn’t interesting enough to MM readers.
And with a small team and limited resources, we have to direct our energy where our readers are most likely to engage with it.
This was an editorial decision taken slowly some time ago.

Please. I have three young kids, a husband who works long hours, a house to run, meals to prepare daily for 5 people, am on several school/pre school committees and am woken at least once a night for a bad dream, wet bed, ‘I’m thirsty’ or just because they want a cuddle. Repeat 7 days, 52 weeks of the year.

And yet I don’t fall down crying exhaustion and neither do the millions of other people who this would be familiar to. It’s amazing how restorative a good cup of tea can be.

Someone needs to offer Lindsay a cup of tea.

    • Sez

If you’re exhausted, perhaps you should be kind on yourself and take a break from the committees? I once had a friend who would load herself up with commitments and then have a breakdown with how busy she was. She then expected help with everyday tasks, because her life was so busy she simply couldn’t fit them in. I too could have this busy busy life, but I’ve chosen to limit my commitments so I can do everything calmy – not so I have time to do other people’s mundane tasks. I think who can be busiest is turning into a bit of a competitive sport.

      • Ladybug

I wasn’t trying to suggest I’m the busiest person around…I’m far from that. I was merely trying to point out all the day to day things I (and just about everyone else) deal with in the course of our regular lives but we don’t cry ‘exhaustion’ and down tools.

Thanks for your concern though and I agree with you, if I wasn’t coping the committees would be the first thing to go. At the moment I’m happy to help out because I CAN cope and someone needs to do it.

        I’ll just keep drinking my tea… :-)

    Another train wreck.

It could be something that’s been blown out of proportion but sadly the worst is easier to believe because of her track record.

The girl is 25. She’s got a face full of Botox & fillers. She has a history of exhibitionism & failing to take responsibility for her actions. She doesn’t learn from her mistakes. She surrounds herself with the wrong people. She has undeniable talent and she’s pissing it all up the wall.

In short – spoilt brat. I just hope she doesn’t end up in the morgue.

Thats because “exhausted” is a euphemism for drunk and drugged. The journos at parliament house used to say pollies were “tired and emotional” instead of drunk so they wouldn’t be sued.
