Tributes flow as best-selling author, Jackie Collins, passes away.

Best-selling author, Jackie Collins, 77, has died today after battling breast cancer.

In a statement on People Magazine, the family of Jackie Collins has confirmed that the author has passed away after secretly fighting breast cancer.

“It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the death of our beautiful, dynamic and one-of-a-kind mother, Jackie Collins, who died of breast cancer today.

“She lived a wonderfully full life and was adored by her family, friends, and the millions of readers who she has been entertaining for our four decades.

“She was a true inspiration, a trailblazer for women in fiction and a creative force.

“She will live on through here characters but we already miss her beyond words.”

Despite being diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer six years ago, the author kept her illness very quiet, only confiding in her three daughters.

Five days before her death, Collins gave an interview to People magazine, saying that she has no regrets and has lived her life in her way.

“Looking back,” Collins told People, “I’m not sorry about anything I did.”

“I did it my way, as Frank Sinatra would say. I’ve written five books since the diagnosis, I’ve lived my life, I’ve travelled all over the world, I have not turned down book tours and no one has ever known until now when I feel as though I should come out with it.”

In the interview, Collins cried for her beautiful daughters, saying that she would “always be there” for them, even after her death.

Two private memorial services will be held in the United States and the United Kingdom for the author, who sold more than 500 million copies.
