By JAMILA RIZVI
“We’ve been offered an interview with Kim Kardashian when she’s in Sydney” says Mia with absolutely no excitement in her voice.
I immediately jump on my pseudo-intellectual high horse: “Who is this woman anyway? I don’t get why she’s even famous. I know there is a TV show about her life and she endorses just about every diet product on the planet but WHY does she do these things? What did she ever do that means I am supposed to care about her in the first place!”
“Great. You can ask her yourself. Interview is all yours,” responds my boss.
I don’t want to mislead; I am in no way a reality television snob. America’s Next Top Model is my ultimate guilty pleasure viewing (Tyra Banks be fierce y’all) but the Kardashians have somehow failed to register on my interest radar.
So I cannot describe to you how much I was dreading this interview. After moaning audibly to anyone who would listen, several of our interns provided me with Kim Kardashian Cheat Sheets. And on reflection, actually reading one of those may have proved useful…
Alas. Here is how it all went down:
I was instructed to arrive at the Sheraton on the Park at 3.40pm. My interview would be at 3.55pm but “you need to arrive early to make sure everything stays on schedule”. Kim is very busy. I will not be allowed to film the interview. I will not be allowed to take photographs during the interview.
There is even a sentence that I am ‘strongly encouraged’ to include in my article: The new season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians premieres every Tuesday night at 8:30pm AEST only on E! channel 121 on FOXTEL.
Tick that one off the list.
I have been allotted 8 minutes in Ms Kardashian’s presence and was permitted to ask her about: “the current season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians on E!, as well as her relationship with Quick Trim and the other product lines and endorsements that have made her not only one of the world’s most recognised women, but also a respected businesswomen.”
Righto. So ‘why exactly are you famous?’ is probably not on the list of permitted questions. I also shouldn’t ask about her famous boyfriend Kanye West. It really is a very Fawlty Towers-esque ‘don’t mention the war’ scenario.

Kim Kardashian
When I arrive at the Sheraton, I am greeted and ushered upstairs by the world’s happiest women. No joke. You know those girls on Carefree advertisements who dance around in their underwear, stop to smell the flowers and are all smiley and glowing because their period is due? Them.
They’re thrilled to have Kim here in Sydney because she is Just. So. Nice. They inform me that Kim has had an utterly exhausting 19-hour flight but is the consummate professional and required no rest before her afternoon of answering questions about E! Television and diet shakes.
Now that is actually quite impressive. Perhaps this is why Kim is famous? The amazing jet-lag-less woman?
The PR types and I are making casual chit-chat about my awesome boots when Kim herself appears. Kim is casually agreeable “yeah, they’re nice” she says. To which I respond “I KNOW, only $25 at Rubi shoes, everyone in our whole office bought them…” before trailing off, realising that this multimillionaire might not actually care about my bargain buy.
My first thought is that Kim is teensy-tiny. I feel a like a giant standing next to her even though I’m a fairly average height of 5 ft 6. Then Kim holds out her hand for me to shake. And I pause – wracked with fear.
There have been rumours (well, I’ve seen it in movies) about these famous types having strict no touching policies. I wonder, will I get kicked out if I shake that finely manicured and carefully moisturised hand? Is this a test? The pressure is immense but: I do it. No alarms, no guns, the bodyguard doesn’t burst in. I am safe.

Author’s impression of Kim Kardashian’s eyes. Eyes may or may not have been damaged in the process of making this photo. Please do not try this at home.
My second thought is that Kim has phenomenal eye contact. She has these absolutely gorgeous big brown eyes and she doesn’t shift them from mine as we sit down and begin our chat.
My third thought is that her eyelashes are longer than my legs and I really want to ask her what sort of mascara she is using. My fourth thought is that she is STILL making unbroken and UNBLINKING eye contact.
It was weird, man. She seriously didn’t blink. Not at all. Not once. My sister and I used to play this game as kids and compete for how long we could last. Kim has obviously cheated by starting the competition without telling me. So I go for the sabotage and blink rapidly back at her. But still – nothing. The woman is unflappable. (Perhaps this is why she’s famous? Guinness Book of World Records record holder for longest period of not blinking?)
We get to chatting. There is something very unnatural about sitting in a room and being told to talk to somebody on command. Especially when there are silent spectators. But Kim is totes cool with it, so I follow her (blink-less) lead.
I ask about the next season of Keeping up With The Kardasians. What can we expect?
“This season, I think I’m probably most excited about the birth of Penelope, my niece. And you see you know, there is a lot of talk with Khloe and her struggle with trying to get pregnant. It’s a really emotional season…
“I think she just didn’t want to go to a fertility specialist to find out if there was something wrong and so I kind of, I tell her, I’ll go with her and I’ll get checked and we’ll do it all together. And I think that encouraged her to go and she was able to see that there was a problem. And now she’s in the process of just trying to fix that problem.”
I am immediately confused. I knew she had a sister (hence Kardashians – plural – being in the title of her show) but only yesterday on Mamamia we’d run pictures of her sister giving birth. I didn’t know she’d previously had fertility problems. Poor girl, I’m thrilled that it has all worked out for her. So, I ask more about it:
“She had a really easy labour, for both babies but I think that you know, she pulled the baby out of her… I don’t know if I would personally ever do that…. Kourtney finds it beautiful and fascinating because you know, it’s really easy for her.”
No wonder people watch this show. The sister has fertility problems and then pops out a child with her own hands and says it’s all really, really easy. Talk about a great plot line. I remark on how good it would be if all couples who struggled with conception could have this kind of happy ending.

Kim Kardashian and sisters. Not one, but two! (Actually, a source informs me that there are even more).
This is followed by a slightly confused silence…
Wait, what?
Oh these are two DIFFERENT sisters. Right. Check. Got it.
Really should have read that intern cheat sheet.
I ask Kim about what it’s like living life in front of the cameras. “Cameras are there 24/7 so you can’t help but be yourself.” Then I ask if she gets totally weirded out by the fact the whole world knows about her family’s disagreements. “We really pride ourselves on showing and sharing so much”.
Next I ask what makes their family so watchable: “People can relate to someone in the family. I mean, someone can relate to someone. Whether it is therapeutic or entertaining, I don’t know what it is. People have their own reasons.”
And then my time is up. Over. Gone. Just. Like. That.
I check the time and realise that I have spoken to Kim for 9 minutes and 43 seconds. I got a free minute and 43 second over my allotted period. WINNING! We’re practically BFFs.
I want to ask for a photograph but I know that’s not allowed. Not permitted. It’s not on the list. Don’t mention the war.
So instead I make my own. I’m basically Oprah now anyway.

Ha! The shot of your eyes is laugh-aloud funny! You do it well, in fact, disconcertingly well. I wish you could have taped your inner monologue during the interview – I can guarantee it would have been more interesting than the on-message answers from KK. Thanks for the Friday giggle!

Love this! I have no idea why these women are famous and get very confused when anyone mentions them.

Haha! Love it! This is brilliant, and so arr you. Xx KL

Got the pirate reference me-hearty!

Love your work Jam! I don’t watch the show, but sadly, knew you were thinking of the wrong sister when you thought of Kourtney going through fertility treatment.
Must stop reading gossip mags at the checkout…alright, I mean the ones in my toilet.

Haha love the comment about her eye lashes being longer than your legs! I’ve always wondered what mascara she uses too! I enjoyed this article and after reading Mia’s rationale behind it, I love it even more. It does give us an insight into what goes on behind the scenes, and I love putting myself in your shoes during the interview!
Well done and I love reading all of your articles Jamila!

This is the FUNNIEST article, thank you for the laugh!!!
hilarious!!! I love how you take the p in such a classy way!!

This is hilarious! Thank you for not being a kiss-ass and writing a genuine article.

I honestly don’t get all the Kardashian hate. Sure, you don’t have to like them – but I don’t think they deserve to be ridiculed for the business empire they have built or be picked upon for being famous for being famous. I am pretty sure none of them have ever ever claimed to be talented like an actress or gifted like a brain surgeon. In fact, they are refreshingly honest about why it is they are so popular, and Kim never shys away from the fact that the $ex tape probably got her to where she is today. Spend a little time reading up on their history and you will find they have built all of these things up from one little clothing store in LA when they were teens. Sure, their fathers money probably paid for that – but there is a girl down the road from me who has opened up a clothing boutique with a loan from her father – does that make her vapid and a joke to be laughed at because she couldn’t start it all on her own? I watch the Kardashians – I find the closeness of their family particularly endearing. I don’t idolise them, I am not obsessed, I don’t spend time on the internet reading about them and following their every move – I just watch it because I find it a great hour of entertainment once a week. I actually find the fact that you sent along an unprepared journalist a little weird. I’m sorry, I just don’t get it. I didn’t find this funny – I get that you wanted to do an article on the behind the scenes aspect, but I feel like you just wasted your time and hers. If you don’t like her and her family, that is totally cool. But maybe you just shouldn’t have gone. You could have taken up a spot for someone that might have genuinely wanted to meet her. Each to their own I guess, the world would be a very boring place if we all agreed..
loading...
Ummm, maybe I read a different article. I didn’t see this a hateful or even disrespectful. It seems completely honest to me and actually paints Kim in a reasonable light. She comes across as professional and approachable – as long as you stay within the guidelines.
For the record I don’t “get” what makes the Kardashians famous at all. That doesn’t mean that I hate them, I just don’t get it. Sounds like Jamila feels the same way.
loading...
Hi Ella
Thanks for your comment. I really don’t think you could call this ‘Kardashian hate’. As I mentioned, I haven’t watched the show and when I met her, Kim was perfectly lovely – there’s no hate from me!
The article is tongue and cheek and we’re not suggesting at any point that it will be an in depth and revealing interview with Kim. She’s been generous with her time while in Australia and there are tons of interviews doing the rounds if you’re interested.
This was supposed to be a bit of fun. I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy it but others have.
Have a great weekend!
Jamila x
loading...
Sorry! I didn’t mean the article was hateful at all – eek!!! .. I meant the comments and the public perception of them in a generalised way. I apologise!!! I should have worded that better!! Your article wasn’t hateful at all. I really should have made the distinction. Sorry! Have a great weekend!! xx
loading...
Dont think u have anything to feel so apologetic about Ella, you both made your points clear, which were valid!
loading...
I just think that people who don’t get it (the show) never really followed the show. Never judge until you’ve seen at least a few episodes.
There are so many reality shows and most of them never become popular. So there must be a reason why people watch the kardashian show and why it is so popular.
I understand that this post is the writer’s honest opinion and thoughts but mamamia is about supporting women who works (and I’m sure Kim kardashian works hard for her fame) and I thought mamamia is anti and against cyber bullying and yet I’ve read so many comments in here ‘I don’t get why she’s so popular’ I can imagine If Kim read this she would get sad and why having a post which yes it is funny (sort of) but on the expense of someone else.
This is just my opinion.
loading...
Don’t worry, I’m sure Kim will survive. I think you have to have very thick skin in order to be as famous as she is and if you find a comment such as “I don’t get why she’s popular” disturbing then you’d never be able to able to work in show business. That would probably be the most mild criticism she gets, I’ve seen people write things that re 100x more mean online and I’m sure she has heard it all. If it bothered her that much she would have walked away by now.
loading...
While i am no Kardashian fan, and i tend to roll my eyes about them a lot, I actually find myself agreeing with a majority of what Ella says. Also, as a journalism grad myself I find it extremely unprofessional and embarrassing that anyone would go to ANY interview so fully unprepared and ill-informed. Whether you give a toss or not about the subject you do the research. Plain and simple.
loading...
In her defense, Jamila was doing research. I told her not to do too much because I wanted a fresher perspective. There are lots of different ways of doing interviews. I was more keen on the spectacle surrounding Kim than the answers she has no doubt given 100000 times before.
loading...
Sure, no-ones suggesting Jamila should have watched seasons of the shows, but basic info like how many sisters she has and which is which could have been found out with a 2 minute Wikipedia session.
I just find it odd that you would send someone to an interview completely unprepared. About half the writers who go to these junkets already do the whole ‘behind the scenes’ thing because they need material to pad out the short interviews, so it’s not really a fresh take. Just seems like a waste of everyone’s time honestly.
loading...
This interview is funny, not a waste of time!
loading...
probably the only interview with her I will ever read – funny!
loading...
Love the way you have written this!! too funny!!
Nice work Jamila
loading...
The show is so produced & staged that I am often torn between ‘how stupid are they!’ & ‘how totally stupid are we!!!’ They are having us on & making so much money off it…a very clever & crafty business.
loading...
It’s great that someone who is not a celebrity sycophant interviewed KK.. but unfortunately Jamila, you are never going to get those 9 mins and 43 secs back in your life.. what a waste of time really..
loading...
The Kardashians have built a multi-million dollar empire out of nothing, apart from a sex-tape and Kim’s generous bottom. There has to be a genius somewhere in that organisation ….
loading...
I was expecting a little more from this article. I understand the brief you were given, but it doesn’t sound like much really happened ‘behind the scenes’ to make this article worth publishing. All I can take from this article is that Kim never blinks! LOL
loading...
I don’t watch their show and I enjoyed Jamila’s take on the interview. I think (hope) that the popularity the kardashians enjoy will wane just as Paris Hilton’s did, probably to be replaced by someone just as annoying.
It is hard to explain to your kids why she’s famous when she hasn’t really done anything of note.
loading...
I’m not at all a fan of the Kardashian’s. I don’t understand why people actually watch the show when the content within each episode is weeks or even months old. By the time it’s shown on television, you’ve already read about it in magazines or online celebrity gossip websites. Each to their own, I guess.
loading...
Not when you download it on the day it airs in the US
loading...
I get what Stacie was saying. I download it the same day it airs too but a lot of the stuff that happens on the show has already been discussed online and in magazines in real time. Not a big deal as the show is still entertaining but a lot of it is old news by the time it actually airs in the US.
loading...
Love some carefully-crafted sarcasm.
Thanks for the laugh, Jamila

Whenever I hear about these types of celebrities (people who are famous for being rich and famous) I always think “All that money and none of it spent on getting them a decent education?”
The only things I see about the Kardashians is in ads during Fashion Police. One night they were “teasing” their mother about her incontinence by sticking pads all over her clothes. It was 1000 kinds of offensive!
These people seem cocooned from real world problems and issues and it frightens me that young girls want to be like them. I saw a girl in Kmart buying a Kardashian book and it was all I could do not to go up and tell her “You don’t need that”
loading...
Actually, for what it’s worth – Kourtney graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree.
loading...
Rob Kardashian (Kim’s brother) graduated from business college also!
loading...
I read a Kardashian book (not sure if it’s the same one you refer to) but I think it is a great read for teenager-ish girls. They talk about boys, puberty, family, being naughty and the lessons that they learned. Eg their father taught them the values of a good education and being wise about money. They talk about how they think boys can wait til you finish school. They advise that having a great and honest relationship with parents is cool. If I ever had a kid I would not mind one bit if they read all that. They’re funny and silly and superficial at times but really they’re great role models for family values and the rewards of education and hard work.
As for making fun of their mum- all of them are pranksters and are a close family. It’s actually pretty funny if you watch the show and understand the contexts. I would love a relationship like that with my family! There’s morals and lessons behind each episode too. It’s not all vapid and shallow (though there’s nothing wrong with that now and then!).
loading...
She seems very nice. And boring. I don’t know. Why are people so into them? I feel sad that we worship at the altar of these (non) celebs. I’d rather spend time with real people.
loading...
Kim is a beautiful, rich, bussiness savvy woman. That is why she is famous. Her fame came from her father who was a famous lawyer, much like Paris Hilton is famous from her father. She ran her DASH stores before she even started TV.
I dont think the rules to the interview were limiting at all. SO much happens in there tv show. You could have used the show for a starting point to a question. Eg: “in this season you played a prank on Bruce by lending him your car and then you went and hid it from him once he parked it. Was that the best prank you have ever done?”. But no lets ask the same questions that. every. single. person has asked her!
Research would have helped use this 9mins a lot more valuably.
loading...
I think almost anyone can become a “rich, business savvy woman” if they are given the platform in life that she has been given i.e. born to a rich famous lawyer father and a mother with connections to E television who is willing to sell her soul to the devil for money and fame.
As for her beauty, again, almost anyone can be beautiful if they have all the time and money in the world to dedicate to their looks. This is probably what she does all day long.
Give me a self made, intelligent, talented, rich, business savvy woman, who didn’t get to where she is via a sex tape, and I will worship her until the end of time.
loading...
The Yahoo CEO? She’s awesome!
loading...
Exactly, anyone can become like her if they had the same platform. So with that in mind would you like it JK if this was you and all these people were saying this stuff?
loading...
I rather enjoyed reading that! You sound Fun Jamila

A few people have asked about why I sent Jamila to do this interview given she didn’t know much about KK. So I thought I should share my thinking behind it.
What I wanted from this piece was an outsider’s view of the circus that surrounds celebrities.
The conditions on this interview were extreme but not that unusual when an international celebrity comes to town to do the media rounds.
We were never interested in doing a piece sledging KK because that’s not our style. But were also not interesting in doing a tightly scripted Q&A about the various products she’s spruiking. That’s not our style either and frankly, there are enough puff pieces available elsewhere if you’re truly interested.
We took a different approach. We thought you might be interested in what goes on behind-the-scenes in these kinds of interviews. A glimpse of the circus, if you like.
Coming from politics, this world is as foreign to Jamila as it would be to the vast majority of MM readers and I really wanted you to see the whole experience through her eyes.
I think she did such a good job of capturing the absurdity of these celebrity junkets while still being respectful to Kim who is by all accounts, incredibly professional and lovely.
loading...
I don’t get the Kardashian thing – at all. I find them vacuous, all of them.
The article starts with: Mia saying you were offered the interview. And she says it without excitement.
Was there any consideration given to not going at all? Not taking up the offer to sit with restrictions on questions and to discuss a diet shake? I’m curious. Jamila went and we got to read this article out of it but did you think about not going if so much of the Kardashion stuff is not your thing?
loading...
No chance of not going – it’s like not being able to look away from a car crash
loading...
oh I do like you Jamila. I saw a bit of her interview with Richard Wilkins this morning. She was talking about her fertility and freezing embryo’s. It felt…awkward to say the least.
I don’t watch them or get them either. However, when the whole divorce thing happened last year (and it felt like a big set-up) I found it very intriguing. Particularly as it happened around the time of the occupy protests, I felt it really summed up the 1% and the impact that that 1% has on the rest of us (how much exploitation can occur before the general public take a stand??). Anyway, I found that aspect interesting at the time
loading...
Freezing eggs? That won’t happen. I suspect her next move is a ‘surprise’ pregnancy to Kanye. Good for ratings. Then she can do the post-baby body bikini shots while spruiking that diet range and request more cash. Baby will get a K name and Kanye’s mum’s name will be the middle name I think.
loading...
Maybe you could be Kims manager! Sounds like you have the next season of Keeping up with the Kardashians all mapped out!
loading...
Great article Jamila, to me the perfect example of tongue in cheek without being insulting to the individual.
loading...
Oh I dunno Tracy, I reckon Kim would be a bit insulted. But, hey, I don’t reckon she’ll read it and I wont tell her
loading...
Haha! This is great! Thanks for the good laugh! Yes, I’m deeply confused my the Kardashian phenomenon – who is who and why — why, why, why? Would have been fun though to have a peep into the strange and – artificial ? – world.
loading...
I don’t watch the show, don’t understand why their famous etc. BUT the handbags are awesome! I love my Kardashian Kollection handbag. Love it. My lovely husband went shopping all on his own and bought it for me.
loading...
Love it Jamila! I still don’t feel enlightened as to why they are famous, but this gave me a good laugh.
PS. I feel I should be more interested in the Kardashians, given I am also a lady whose name starts with K…
loading...
If Dick Emery were around these days, he’d say, ‘Jamila, ooh, you are awful … but I like you!’
Anyone who wants to read an ‘I love KK’ interview can find one anywhere – your ‘why is she famous?’ approach was way more fun.
loading...
The constant eye contact thing is a strategy or tactic.
Wannabe so-called ‘Alpha males’ do it to ‘tame’ their female targets into submisison. It’s all part of pick up artistry which I have been reading about the last 48 hours to decode a guy I know. He does the same thing which I have worked out he learnt from this dumbass book called ‘The Game’.
loading...
Really? That would freak me out.
loading...
LOL “dumbass” book The Game… Love it!
loading...
Very entertaining article Jamila! Well written. Hope you had fun when you look back on the interview!
loading...
I am a Kardashian tragic. Though I am obviously informed enough to know it is a load of rubbish, contrived for the cameras and everything that comes out of Kim’s mouth has been pre-approved by a PR person…..
I don’t like her on the show, but I don’t mind the other two. I quite like Khloe and Lamar Odom, but I again, I appreciate that the show is the product of heavy editing and the Kardashians are actually producers of the show so they make themselves look how they want to look.
I do think despite all of that, the audience is not stupid. My friends and I who watch it (and I suppose we’re all mid 20s, university educated demographic not 16 year old school girls) all come to the same conclusions about the show and the family.
What I do find seriously alarming, is the number of teenager twitter accounts and websites solely dedicated to the Kardashians, who constantly tweet to Kim about how Kim is their “role model and idol” and they love her “so much”. I could go on and on and on about my views on this (there’s a blog post in that!) but I think I’ve written enough!
ps – Jamilla, while I did laugh at this story, I do think Mia and you should have made a better editorial decision and sent one of the other staff members who might have known more about Kim and would have liked the opportunity to meet her!
loading...
Maybe just maybe, there was noone who actually cared/wanted to meet Kim… WHO cares?
loading...
Well, we know that’s not the case because Jamilla referred to the interns giving her cheat sheets about KK.
loading...
I’m surprised Mia wasn’t a little more excited given she has watched & enjoyed the show previously http://www.mamamia.com.au/news/the-kardashian-thing-is-it-because-i-dont-have-sisters/
I have watched the show (guilty pleasure) and enjoyed it. The sisters have a great relationship with each other & their world is a little bit fantasy.
loading...
I think we can all agree that article was two years ago and that that funnily enough,,, two years later Miss Kim has been done. to. death.
loading...
I do quite like the show. But I find those celebrity interviews that are so tightly controlled to be absurd and insulting.
Surely, she is a grown up. If she doesn’t want to answer a question, you just say “I don’t want to talk about that”.
loading...
It’s the best way to make sure everyone gets what they need. If there’s no rules and someone spends their 8 minutes asking questions she doesn’t want to answer, they’ll be pissed off and very likely to write a sledging piece, because they have nothing else.
loading...
I love watching the Kardashians… it’s the only reality show I do watch. I have NO idea why. They are fascinating… and I’m not entirely sure if that’s meant to be taken as a compliment.
This was so funny to read and the eye thing freaked me out… I’m nowgoing to notice how often she does, or doesn’t, blink on the show. Hah.
loading...
I loved this! Thanks for the insight into the interview.
I am so unbelievably in love with Kim and the rest of the Kardashian Klan
but I have absolutely NO idea why. My cousin and I slept on the street outside David Jones with 200 other crazy Kardashian fans last year in order to meet Kim & Khloe, and I was genuinely surprised at how sweet they both were, so now i’m even more in love with them!
I guess in a strange way their family is quite relatable, minus the millions of dollars of course

loading...
I really like the Kardashians and would love the opportunity to interview Kim. Its unfortunate that you did not take it more seriously and do some research so that you could have done the job thoroughly.
loading...
Really? I disagree. I’ve read enough pre-packaged Kim K interviews this week – and not one of them made me laugh out loud like this one.
loading...
I think it was funny – but I’m inclined to agree with Katie to some extent. If Jamilla were interviewing Charlize Theron or Reese Witherspoon she would likely have been told she was only allowed to ask about the movie they were in town to promote and should and/or would have done some research…
But I do think it is ridiculous that Kim is supposed to be a REALITY tv star, but won’t answer questions about specific topics when their family is supposed to “let it all hang out”. Or, she will only answer those questions when she’s being interviewed by something “big” like Oprah or the View (where she was happy to answer questions with PR laden answers about divorce and Kanye West)
loading...
Your second paragraph is a very good point Whipper!
loading...
my thoughts exactly!
loading...
Take it seriously? This is a girl who is famous for making a sex tape.
What we should be looking at is why society has elevated pretty, rich females to worship status. It’s like looking at a Christmas decoration. Very nice to look at, but what does she actually do?
Money. Looks. Possessions. Very 21st century.
loading...
You are right, of course, but you’ve got to be realistic about this though – she is one of the biggest celebrities in the world right now.
Yes yes, we all despair for humanity when someone like that is elevated to celebrity status.
But, even pre-reality TV, the amount famous movie, TV stars and singers get paid just shows how much value society places on entertainment that George Clooney earns $20million a movie, whereas the nurse who might save your life earns about $60k per year. The value and culture of celebrity was around way before the Kardashians became famous!
loading...
But that is exactly what is great about Mamamia – lightheartedly taking the piss. It’s one honest girl’s opinion that is’t sucking up to celebrity… I love that it is so real, thanks Jamila!
loading...
Lighten up. It’s a reality TV show.
loading...
Take it more seriously? Oh you’ve got to be joking! A girl with no known talent whatsoever who is famous for making a sex tape and having a big butt. What is there to take seriously?
loading...
Bwa ha ha ha awesome!!!!
I love that feeling of This interview is not My Cup of Tea but I’m going to have to do it anyway.
I once had to interview John Howard when he was in the height (ha ha) of being PM, at the secret SAS shootemup base. I was all feeling sentimental cos my first interview of the morning had been a couple who had been married forever and he was dying. My questions were not off the sheet! ha ha
loading...
Love it Jamila ! Those huge Kimmy K eyes are gold !!
loading...
Jamila, you are FUNNY. Great article!
I also cannot understand their appeal, why they’re famous, why anyone would buy their range of handbags/diet shakes/merkins/whatever, or why someone would want to watch the show – but each to their own.
P.S. I cannot go longer than 1 second without blinking, so she would have annihilated me in the surprise staring contest.
loading...
I have asked myself the very same question………….
Hilarious Jamila, I think you’ve just made my week! Thanks for the Friday morning giggle.
