Photoshop fail of the year? Maybe. Numéro magazine recently airbrushed model Karlie Kloss…to make her look less skeletal. Whoosh. That’s the sound of the magazine COMPLETELY MISSING THE POINT. Have a look:

This from Blisstree.com:
“…Airbrushing the ribs off a thin model is every bit as disturbing as whittling away thighs and tummies. …Magazines, I want to tell you, explicitly, exactly what women want from you to make us feel better about ourselves and the world we live in: We want you to cast models of all shapes and sizes, without calling them out or making a big deal of it, and we want you to use little to no airbrushing of said models.
THANK YOU, Blisstree.
Russell Brand has explained that his marriage to Katy Perry ended due to “incompatibility.” The 37 year old told 60 Minutes: “Sometimes it goes well, sometimes it don’t, but if you sort of sense there’s an incompatibility, then in any relationship regardless of the status of the individual, it kind of is best to go separate ways.”
We were actually pretty impressed with the comment – it’s rare that anyone is so honest about a relationship simply not working out. But then Russell went on to explain: “If you’re a devoted tennis professional and you get married to a crystal meth addict, you might have trouble.” Righto…
Russell and Katy are heading our celebrity splits gallery (are you surprised by any of the others?)

Katy Perry and Russell Brand split last year after 14 months of marriage
Christina Applegate gave birth to her daughter in January 2011 bu says that she is only just getting out of her maternity jeans. During an appearance on The Talk last Tuesday, she said that she’s still shedding her pregnancy weight. “I just transitioned out of maternity jeans. I’m working on two years and I haven’t even lost all my weight,” she said.
“And those girls that do, they’re spending less time with their kids. I just wanted to hang out with my daughter 24 hours a day.” We love a celebrity who is honest about the challenges of losing baby weight. To read more about the celebrities who are “real” about baby weight, click here.
And in baby news, Kristen Cavallari has tweeted an adorable photo introducing her newborn baby boy to the world. You can see the pic of Camden here, as well as what else is going on in celebrity Twitter land, below:

It’s dangerous to put thin models/women in magazines…all teenage girls are impressionable and will at some stage have doubts about body image. It distorts girls views of what is acceptable and unacceptable. It doesn’t matter how much you tell or portray a healthy attitude to your body, your daughter will give cudos to these magazines.

Just a thought, but…
If we don’t want underweight models to appear on magazines, why would we want overweight/larger ones? I completely agree that it isn’t good (especially for adolescent girls) to be seeing stick thin girls as acceptable, but being overweight isn’t a healthy body image either.

I really want those Daria nails that Katy Perry is showing off in picture 7.
Can we all please stop using the term “Baby daddy”? I do not quite understand why, but it is extremely annoying, especially when the father is being a father, not just the sperm donor.

this is an honest question. Do plus models have cellulite? Like, I know the magazines would airbrush it if they did, but do they actually have it in real life? Or do they have large thighs with perfectly smooth skin?

Hate this if you will, but I like models to be thin. I don’t want to see large people that I find unattractive. If I want to see people of all shapes and sizes I’ll walk outside. And I’m saying this as a size 14 mother.

I understand what you are saying, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but it could just as easily be argued that super skinny models are also unattractive. Everyone has a different opinion of what is or is not attractive and diversity should be celebrated everywhere, including in magazines and in the real world.
In my opinion if a model has to be photoshopped to look healthier or less skeletal than something is wrong! I’d much rather look at Robin Lawley, Megan Gale, Miranda Kerr, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell etc. in modeling gorgeous clothes, shoes and make-up rather than the likes of ridiculously thin Karlie Kloss.
Maybe I’m on my own here.

Fair enough. I get where you are coming from.
But that model was already very slim. Why show the ribs?? It’s unhealthy looking.
It’s pictures like that, that WONT make me by those products anytime soon.

i daresay if you’re parenting a girl at all you’ll change your mind when she’s nearing her teens, wont eat and thinks she’ds fat when she fits into an ‘XS” at Supre, rather than a “XXS”
