Former Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon has tied the knot with longtime partner Christine Marinoni. The wedding was kept under wraps but a rep for Nixon confirmed she walked down the aisle in a custom dress by Caroline Herrera yesterday.

They met at a same-sex rally in New York in 2004 and were waiting for gay marriage to be legalised in New York before saying “I do.” The bill for same-sex marriage was passed in New York last year.

Nixon, 46, and Marinoni, 45, have one child together, Max Ellington Nixon-Marinoni, whom Marinoni gave birth to in February 2011. Nixon also has two children, Samantha and Charles, from her previous relationship with Danny Mozes.
