Anne Hathaway has traded her long and luscious hair for a new pixie cut in preparation for her role Hollywood’s big-screen adaptation of Broadway classic Les Miserables.
Twenty-nine-year-old Hathaway plays the character of Fantine, a prostitute who sells her hair to make money to support her daughter. She’ll star alongside Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman and Amanda Seyfried in the film.

Aside from Anne’s new hairdo ( which,by the way, i think is absolutely gorgeous),i find that whole subject quite interesting.Everywhere i go,i see girls with that weird ‘Hollywood style’ hair,high gloss locks cascading down their backs…i don’t really get it.
Personally,i think it’s boring.And i find the fact that short hair on young women seems to be practically a taboo nothing short of bizarre.
I’ve never had really long hair myself,but up until a year ago i had shoulder-length blond hair.Men looked at me sometimes.Then i shaved it all off.Men (and women,and children)gaped at me,no doubt thinking i’m some kind of a freak,or maybe just horribly ill.Then my hair grew again. Right now i have on my head what is apparently called a pixie cut.Men look at me sometimes.No doubt thinking to themselves ”… bloody dyke…”
I honestly would like to hear other peoples views on this issue ( ok,it’s not really an ‘issue’,but still:)),especially males.

I’ve had a short pixie cut (and got the typical ‘bloody dyke’ comment from a few men) but I loved it, even though I don’t have quite the features to really pull it off. If you have the face, like Anne H does, it’s one of the sexiest haircuts out there.
Super short haircuts on women can be sexy and beautiful – think of Sharon Stone when she cut her hair super short several years ago. She looked hot! And then there’s Emma Watson with her pixie that did far more for her face than long hair. There are some discerning men who will agree with me but sadly the majority will probably bang on about short hair on women looking ugly and unfeminine.
What these cavemen who only like long locks on women have to understand is that some women can’t grow their hair very long, or if they do it’s not in good shape. I’m one of those. I have very fine hair that looks like sh*te if I try to grow it much longer than a chin length bob (which is how it’s cut at the moment). Luckily I prefer my hair short anyway.

Ah me too, I look RUBBISH with short hair, hence the long and rather boring locks I’ve had for years. Sometimes I’d love to be able to dry my hair in 5 mins flat and be out the door, lol!!
