BUMPER FLUFF: The Oscars. 'Nuff said.

1) The week started with Hollywood’s night of night, the Oscars. And, you know what that means? A celebration of the year’s finest cinematic offerings? Please. Oscars = Dresses. Lots and lots of pretty dresses. Oh, and maybe the occasional award… presented by people in pretty dresses.

But, alas, the MM team were left feeling a little deflated after watching this year’s red carpet arrivals, because while no one looked hideous, we felt the wow factor was lacking. Share our dismay by flicking through our red carpet gallery… it is Tres Miserables:

Feeling as depressed as a French prostitute covered in mud getting her teeth yanked out? Good. But, it wasn’t all bad. Because, while the ceremony itself was an embarrassing catwalk of bland, the after parties were a very different story:

If we do this, will Hugh Jackman run to save us?

Phew.

If you’re interested in what actually happened at the ceremony, you can check out our top 8 Oscar night controversies here. And see the full list of winners here.

Oh, and you can find out why we all have intense girl-crushes on Best Actress winner, Jennifer Lawrence, here. (And, no, it’s not just because she took a stumble that commanded the immediate and undivided attention of Hugh Jackman. Although that may be a very large part of it.)

2. Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton is now the father of a baby boy.

Hilton, 34, made the surprise announcement via a personal message and photo posted on his blog, perezhilton.com:

“I am ready to announce that earlier this month I was blessed with the birth of my first child, a beautiful and healthy baby boy – with lots of hair on his tiny head!,” he wrote.

“My family is overjoyed at this newest and most cherished addition … I am so humbled to welcome this little man into my life. And I am honored and ready for the challenge of guiding him through his.”

The openly gay blogger gave no details of the birth nor the child’s mother.

Check out the cute first photo and pics of other recent celebrity parents in this gallery.

Ondria Hardin, a white model ‘black up’ for Numero magazine

3. Numero magazine has bronzed up a pale caucasian model for an African-inspired photo shoot.

Because why hire a black model, when you can paint a white one instead?

Sometimes, you have to wonder what goes on inside the heads of fashion magazine editors (you can get an idea by reading our post on former Vogue editor Kirstie Clements here).

As well as being completely tasteless, this image reflects the ignorance of real cultural diversity by many in the fashion industry. Gah.

4. Take a look at some of Myer’s Autumn/Winter Spring runway styles.

Myer launched its new-season styles in Melbourne on Thursday night.

Brand ambassador Jennifer Hawkins and 37 models exhibited designs from over 20 designers, including Toni Maticevski, Karen Walker and sass and bide. The show was opened by Alexandra Agoston, a former model for Myer’s rival store, David Jones.
