Bumper Fluff: The most popular pair in breakfast radio call it quits.

1. The King and Queen of Breakfast Radio call it quits.

UPDATED:

After announcing that they are leaving 2Day FM, reports have emerged this morning that the Kyle and Jackie O will not disappear off the airwaves entirely.

News Ltd papers are reporting that the pair are currently in the final stages of contract negotiation with rival FM station, Mix 106.5 in a deal that will see each paid a minimum salary of $1 million, set to increase as the pair’s audience grows.

The pair would replace Sami Lukas and Yumi Stynes in the breakfast slot, but also receive a weekly show that would be syndicated internationally.

More to come…

Sydney breakfast radio duo, Kyle and Jackie O, have announced that they are leaving 2Day FM.

After more than a decade on air together as Australia’s most popular radio duo, Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O will not return to the airwaves together as the Kyle and Jackie O Show in 2014.

Southern Cross Austereo Head of Content Craig Bruce said:

We’re proud that Kyle and Jackie have not only given Sydney radio audiences the most entertaining radio show ever, they have also raised millions of dollars for charities and those in need whilst also enthralling listeners with the world’s hottest music artists and exclusive interviews with famous Hollywood celebrities. They have certainly lived up to their show mantra ‘Breakfast with the Stars’! None of which could have happened without the strong and dedicated team working hard behind the scenes.

Kyle and Jackie O will be together on air for the last time from on Friday 29 November, 2013.

Rumoured replacements include ex-Mamamia Today hosts Dave Thornton and Em Rusciano, Sophie Monk and Jules Lund.

2. Zoe Foster-Blake is having a baby!

Congratulations to beauty guru Zoe Foster-Blake and radio funny man Hamish Blake!

The couple are officially expecting a baby. Hamish announced the news via his radio show this afternoon, saying: “As of this week, Zo and I can confirm that we are expecting.” Zoe is 12 weeks pregnant so far.

We have never been so excited about an Aussie celeb pregnancy, and we can’t wait to see their baby arrive – presumably, he or she will be a complete wonderchild.

33-year-old Zoe and 32-year-old Hamish have been married since December 2012 , when they took us all by surprise by announcing their wedding via Twitter.

Zoe also used to be the former beauty writer here at Mamamia, and is almost single-handedly responsible for everything the MM Team know about make up, dry shampoo, applying illuminator (in triangle shapes!) and how to hide a hangover. (Read her awesome posts here.)

Congratulations to the couple again – we’re thrilled to see Zoe moving onto another exciting phase in her life. Here’s a taste of our favourite Zoe and Hamish pics (thanks Instagram):

3. The creators of How I Met Your Mother are proposing a spin-off. And, yeah. No points for originality here…

How I Met Your… Father?

With How I Met Your Mother due to end next year, the show’s creators clearly need something else to do with their time. And they’re – reportedly – discussing a new TV show under a working title of:

How I Met Your… Father.

Genius. How did they even think that up?

But don’t get too excited. Barney won’t find himself embroiled in a paternity scandal. The show will involve an entirely new cast of characters.

So, How I Met Your Father. Thoughts?

4. Collette Dinnigan closing down after 24 years.

One of Australia’s most internationally acclaimed fashion designers is closing down her business after 24 years following a fruitless two-year search for a business partner.

The AFR reports that: “By year’s end Australia’s most internationally acclaimed fashion designer will have closed her eponymous boutiques in Sydney, Melbourne and London and stopped producing the high-end bridal and evening attire on which her reputation has been built and which she now sells worldwide.”

The down-scaling will see about 40 of her staff lose their jobs and the 48-year-old says the move is not due to financial trouble.

“I am not closing for financial reasons, at all. It has absolutely nothing to do with it,” Dinnigan says firmly. “This is about finding a way to spend more time with my family.”

5. Pink defends husband’s parenting skills on Twitter

Pink has used Twitter to lash out against her critics who have a problem with her parenting skills.

The controversy began after her husband and retired motocross rider, Carey Hart, uploaded a photo on Instagram of the couple’s two-year-old daughter, Willow, riding together on his motorbike.

“Been waiting for this day for a very long time. Willz went for her 1st ride on my motorcycle around the pits today,” Hart wrote.

“She was pumped the whole time. When we stopped, she gave me a big hug and said it was fun, thank you Papa. That’s my girl.”

Pink received unsolicited parenting advice like, “wait until she’s 16 and let her decide for herself. Bikes are no joke!” to which she responded “Yeah ok. I’ve never met you but that’s great.”

Another fan said, “Honestly.. I wouldn’t like the idea of a child so young being on a bike.” Pink shot back, “Then I don’t recommend it for your child.”

The Grammy award winning artist ended the debate by tweeting, “”M’kay I’m gonna go now. Gotta figure out what wills is wearing tomorrow for her MANIACAL MOTO MANIA!!!!!! Gotta pack veggies too! Organic!”

6. Kim Kardashian describes giving birth as “easy”.

It was only a matter of time before Kim Kardashian spoke out about giving birth to North West and friends, that day is here.

Prepare yourselves.

The first thing Kim when did arrived home from the hospital was have  a squiz at her lady bits, and naturally she wants to tell you all about it.

“When I came back from the hospital the first thing I did was go and look at my vagina in the mirror. It looks better looking than before,” she says to Khloé in the latest episode of Keeping Up. With the Kardashians.

“I just want to come out to the world, and be naked and be like, ‘I look so hot. I am back,’” the 33-year-old said.

Well, I guess that explains the bum selfie she uploaded last week.

“You called me a whale, Shamu, a cow…” Kim rants against those who criticised her pregnancy weight gain.

The newly engaged reality star has also described childbirth as ‘the easiest thing ever’.

“Labour was honestly the easiest thing ever. I did not feel one thing. Like, it was not hard,” said Kim, 33, who also raved about her new ‘paternal instincts.’

Sigh.

Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom will remain friends.

7. Bloom says Kerr will “always be family”.

In a conversation with reporters in New York, Orlando Bloom has said that ‘of course’ he and Kerr are still on good terms.

“We’re not friends, we’re family,” the actor told a reporter.

When pressed for a reason for the break-up, Bloom mused that life doesn’t always ”work out the way you want it to” and said that “life’s a mystery.”

His amicable words match the sentiment of Kerr and Bloom’s official statement released last week, which said that: “Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family.”

Last Friday E! Online reported exclusively that Kerr, 30, had split up from her movie star husband Orlando Bloom, 36.

The couple had been together for six years – and married for three years – and have a son, Flynn, 2.

A representative for Orlando Bloom is said to have confirmed the break up, saying: “In a joint statement, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced that they have been amicably separated for the past few months,” the rep said in a statement. “After six years together, they have recently decided to formalise their separation.”

8. Marcia Wallace, who voiced the character of Edna Krabappel in The Simpsons, has died aged 70.

The American actress died in Los Angeles of complications from pneumonia.

Wallace was also known for her role as receptionist Carol Kester on the 1970s sitcom The Bob Newhart Show, and voiced elementary school teacher Edna Krabappel on the animated series The Simpsons appearing in almost 200 episdoes, and won an Emmy for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance in 1992.

The Simpsons cast members took to Twitter to express their condolences.

“Cheers to the hilarious, kind, fab Marcia Wallace, who has taken her leave of us,” Yeardley Smith said, who is the voice of Lisa Simpson. “Heaven is now a much funnier place b/c of you.”

“So sad to learn–through Twitter, first–of the passing of the wonderful Marcia Wallace. Sorely missed already,” Harry Shearer tweeted,

Earlier this month, Simpson producers announced that the show’s 25th season would lose one of its major characters in an on-screen death. A statement confirms that the character “was not Marcia’s Edna Krabappel. Marcia’s passing is unrelated and again, a terrible loss for all who had the pleasure of knowing her.”
