So here it is – your weekly update on the best fluff going ’round. Lots has been happening in the celebrity world, from surprise marriages to terrible choices in new tattoos. Check it out.
It’s been almost a year since they first got together, and now they are husband and wife. On Monday, it was confirmed that Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have officially tied the knot.
Apparently, the wedding was on Sunday night at Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., just outside of Charleston.
This from PEOPLE:
The reception took place in a white tent at the plantation on Sunday evening. Florence Welch (of Florence and the Machine), a good friend of the Gossip Girl star, performed three songs live, and there was also a deejay who spun tunes. PEOPLE also confirmed that a cake was being driven down from Virginia for the event.
Lively’s mother and sister were also spotted in town, and a source told PEOPLE that the two had dinner in Charleston with Bette Midler earlier in the weekend.
Reps for the two actors had no comment.
Apparently, the pair kept the wedding secret by asking everyone involved to sign non-disclosure agreements – including the parents of the children’s choir who performed during the ceremony. Phones were also confiscated from guests before being returned after the event.
Chris Brown reaches a disgusting new low. No-one is particularly surprised. In what is possibly the worst case of judgement we have seen since someone decided that Honey Boo Boo needed her own tv show, Chris Brown stepped out with a new tattoo on his neck this week. And it bears an uncanny – and horrifying – resemblance to Rihanna’s bruised face. It’s just…. sick.
Brown’s representatives have denied that the tattoo is of an abused woman. Apparently, it’s a MAC cosmetics design of a skull associated with the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead. Regardless – did no one, at any point, think to say: “Hey Chris, maybe you shouldn’t get a permanent ink drawing of what looks a brutally attacked woman on your skin, specially cos’ you know, you’ve brutally attacked women in the past.”
Em Rusciano summed up our thoughts quite nicely for us:
Which judge has quit The Voice?
Deep breaths, people. Keith Urban has been signed on as a judge on Idol in the US, which means he’ll no longer be part of The Voice in Australia. And before you go saying “it’s just a rumour” (because that’s exactly what we did), Channel Nine have confirmed the move. Their director of programming said :”We were really happy to have Keith as part of the inaugural Voice crew and of course he will always remain part of The Voice family in Australia. We are currently in negotiations with super star musicians to fill the coaching roles (next year).”
Keith also made a statement. He said: “I’ve been so fortunate to have been a part of The Voice. And as much as I’d love to do it again, it’s clear that the recording and promoting of a new album, a tour and other commitments, will keep me from being a part of the second season. To everyone who sang on the show, I thank you, you’ve inspired not just me, but countless others. To everyone behind the scens and to my on camera family Darren, Delta, Joel and Seal, thank you for making it so much fun. Keep watching Australia!”
Still no word on whether Delta, Seal and Joel will be back for season two.
A French magazine publishes topless photos of Duchess of Cambridge. It’s the latest headache for the royal family, who just a few weeks ago had to deal with pictures of a very naked Harry having a whole lot of naked fun in Vegas.
This from news.com.au:
In a strongly-worded statement St James’s Palace said: “Their Royal Highnesses have been hugely saddened to learn that a French publication and a photographer have invaded their privacy in such a grotesque and totally unjustifiable manner.
“Their Royal Highnesses had every expectation of privacy in the remote house. It is unthinkable that anyone should take such photographs, let alone publish them.
“Officials acting on behalf of their Royal Highnesses are consulting with lawyers to consider what options may be available to the Duke and Duchess.”
The editor of the magazine, Laurence Pieau, defended her decision to publish the images. She told AFP: “These photos are not in the least shocking. They show a young woman sunbathing topless, like the millions of women you see on beaches.”
Our take? We’re FAR more interested in a fully dressed Kate Middleton – because she has some of the best fashion sense going round. See for yourself:
