Welcome to a sponsored post from Metalicus. Lana is going to tell you all about the new season at Metalicus with a little help from Metalicus head designer Vanessa Rochman and then I am going to do the 3D bit – watch and see. Lana writes:
“Hard to believe that winter is already on its way, I’m wondering how we got to March so quickly. I was still planning on buying a swimming costume that flatters me and all of a sudden I am looking at leggings, jumpers, scarves and jackets. And truth be known, I am a little bit excited. I love dressing for winter, not only because I feel like winter clothes hide so many more of my flaws but also because I love the feeling of being blanketed in gorgeous fabrics and oh Lord how I love to layer my clothes.
But it’s not just the warmth of the clothes and the sensation of the stretch fabrics in the new Metalicus range that gets me excited, it’s also the colours. Both the fabrics and colours were inspired, according to Vanessa, by fire places, red wine, trees, nature, textured bark, logs of wood, copper, brandy and port, creams and chocolate! Now I am not sure about you but a log cabin in a secluded forest dense with fir trees, complete with a roaring fire, and me with a glass of red wine and a huge box of chocolates, fits easily into my fantasy winter wonderland. It makes me think of outfits that I can snuggle up in, knitted cardis, cozy layers, long vests and tunics, anoraks, the classic trench and my personal favourite, the scarf. This year Metalicus have also introduced a Throw which is like a jacket cum blanket. Very cosy – very versatile, very wearable (watch out for it in the video)
Enough of me rattling on because I am quite sure the video will give you a better idea of the looks, not to mention a behind the scenes look at the shooting of the new range. You’ll also get to hear Vanessa Rochman talking through the range to Mia . Part of the collection shown in the video is available now, however some of it is an exclusive sneak peek for Mamamia readers, and will not be available in store until early April. I’m putting my name on the chocolate dress already. If I can’t eat it I may as well wear it.
What are you looking forward to wearing this winter?
Tell us what you are thinking about for your winter wardrobe and if your comment is one of the 4 comments that gets the most thumbs up you will win a Metalicus trench. Just like that. But be sure to include your email address after you comment (in the box next to where it says Notify me of follow-up comments via e-mail) . Your email address will not be visible to anyone else but if you do not leave it there we will not be able to contact you. Competition closes Friday 18 March at 17:00 AEST.

I LOVE my Metalicus pieces – and if I was a millionaire I’d wear it every day!
This winter I’m looking forward to my flat leather boots which are SO comfy and warm, and soft as butter!
I’m looking forward to getting out all my comfy knitted layers (Metalicus included!), and I’m looking forward to all the chocolate I can get away with eating cos layers are so great at disguising a few extra kilos!!

I have been wearing Metalicus for 10 years now …
I wore it when I was a young, single girl obsessed with exercise, I wore it as a pregnant young woman and now I am still wearing it as a mummy of two active boys.
My layering skills have improved over the years. I can do it to add elegance to my look now and not just to hide the bulges.
Nevertheless,I have also always received compliments as all my pieces work so well together. I love the colouful basics, rich and bold. I sometimes where 2 tops in different colours to create an interesting look. I am not so keen on the lace as I find that it looks like night wear but I love the stripes and the patterned material that are coming up in the latest ranges.
I think it is so nice that you are blending the texture of the material to play the colours up and down.
There are some pieces I have which I have worn for four years and I want to buy them again. I wish you would bring them back.
I LOVE YOU METALICUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love the colours and textures of the autumn winter range. Have a couple of key pieces already and can’t wait to mix them up with items from the last few years. Just waiting for the cooler weather now so I can layer up! My only difficulty with Metalicus is narrowing each range down to a few pieces to add to my growing collection.

Loving the new Metalicus Winter collection, particularly now I’ve
re-discovered exercise and (ahem…) Nancy Ganz! As a mum of three, – I am keen this Winter to incorporate some gorgeous figure hugging Metalicus items into my wardrobe. Look out!

This winter I want to expand on my Metalicus collection. I am only new to the Metalicus line and have managed to purchase some excellent very versatile pieces, which I will be able to layer with more Metalicus purchases. I can’t wait until it is cold enough to create some great looks with Metalicus.
Bring on more Winter and more Metalicus.

Thanks Mia! I was just wondering where I would get my business mum / playing mum winter wardrobe from – And with little time and inclination to shop I just did lots watching the video! Blessings Meaghan

I love Metalicus the most in the whole world! My boyf thinks Im obsessed!
This winter I want ribbed tights that are really warm in all different colors – mostly, navy, white, red, green and black with extra padding and warmth in the toes.
I want bodytight tops with lace on the v neck, around the sleaves and around the bottom to hold the top down. You came out with them 5 years ago and they have never been as good since. I LOVE my red top with the spotty lace and my black top with the frilly lace (not the heavy lace – its scratchy)
I will then be wearing vintage dresses over the top.
I would then like waist length bodytight cardigans again with the lace around the bottom. Its really important because it holds the top down.
I would like a peacock bodytight scarf.
Thanks!

I love this time of year! My clothes will reflect that – layers of bright colour peeking out from a black, brown, or grey base. Some things I can’t wait to put on: green fishnet leggings, floral brocade skirt (let’s hope it fits – eek!), Owl and the Pussycat brooch, red suede shoes, button necklace, Granny’s handbag and a patchwork scarf. I usually wouldn’t wear all of this at the same time – but I did last winter when I let my four year old dress me for a day (and herself to ‘match’)!

Wanted: The winter wardrobe to be all things to all people (well just me really). It must be light enough for Melbourne’s four seasons in one day. Warm and flexible enough for Canada’s freezing winter – not to mention stylish enough to wow the canucks. It will have to do double duty as work and casual wear as there is only so much room in my suitcase and my teddy bear takes up a fair bit of space. Most importantly, it can’t be boring. Right now I am wearing a beautiful pumpkiny orange metalicus dress, google earth could spot me in the sea of Melbourne black. Now if only metalicus made boots…

Baby number 3 is due on the first day of winter so I am thinking about layers which will hide the baby bulges and items of clothing that are comfortable and enable breastfeeding. So I will swapping my dresses for tops in neutral colours to hide baby spew, and wraps and cardigans for warmth and to discreetly breastfeed whilst staying comfortable. The beauty of Metalicus is that you don’t have to iron and the clothes always look fabulous, perfect for the mornings when I need to throw on something for the kinder run. I am a neutral coloured type of gal but my daughter looks brilliant in colour so I am hoping to take a leaf out of her book this winter.

I think this winter with all the rain and flooding, how good would it be to look and feel great. Long boots, a meticulous tunic. Fabulous and wearable in an Oz winter

OOh the layers – this will be my look for winter – lovely colours and loose throw over type cardis to hide the tummy!
Now I just need to find somewhere in brisbane that stocks more than 3 items!

I love summer like the rest of the them, but nothing says fashion like autumn/winter! This year I am taking a little inspiration from Gwyneth, and a little from Rachel Bilson – think cool meets quirky, but all needs to be very practical with an almost two year old and an almost full time job. My top 4 are: camel coat/trench – not as dreary as black, but not as impractical as cream, the dark camel coat will go with denim, can be thrown over a suit and can be worn to work AND on the weekend! Second is ankle boots – they don’t make your legs look stumpy like the whole knee high over boots can do! Third is a woolen maxi skirt – so versatile as you can dress it up with a jacket for work, or down for the weekends. And lastly a black with white stripes long sleeve top (am very specific here…not white with black stripes, so 2010!).
Hope this inspires you to go SHOPPING.

My winter wardrobe will be thrown together in scarcely spread out 10min slots that I get in between one of my two boys getting to the end of their shopping tether. Inevitably it will have to come from David Jones as 10mins is not long enough to visit even one my favourite brand boutiques, of which Metalicus is one. The down side (how can there be a down side to this scenario I hear you ask) is that I will probably have to spend 8 of the 10 mins waiting to be served.
This is so sad I can’t believe I’m sharing – but to receive what I know will be a beautiful item of clothing without having to go and look for it – even the chance of this well worth the embarrassment…

Winter wardrobe for me this year will be full of bold colour over dark underneath garments. The dark background is slimming and easy to add to- but after such tragedy and sadness that we hve seen in our world, and even closer to home……my dark days of winter will be lit up with happy colours of red, autumn yellows, relaxing blues and deep pinks. Can’t wait…..

Hmmm… wondering what I should wear this winter.
I think I will stick to my usual black skirts, black tights, black V neck tops, furry hats, scarves…. and tall black boots.
Also jeans, RM williams riding boots and jumper. That is usually my uniform.
Might go for a splash of red this winter

For me, the best thing about winter fashion is being able to wear layers of dark clothing. Blacks, charcoals and dark denim… it somehow makes us feel sexy, luxurious AND slimming at the same time. Brilliant. Since I don’t have the budget to run out and buy a new wardrobe very season (wouldn’t that be fab?), I try to buy one or two dark coloured key pieces every year to help me feel fashionably current. The Metalicus trench in black or charcoal might have to be this year’s purchase…
As an added bonus, the dark coulours are perfect for a klutz like me who loves drinking red wine in winter.

Hi! Seven months ago a friend and I set ourselves a challenge not to buy any new clothes for 3 months, in part because we are both poor students but also to see if we could. 7 months later the only thing I have purchased new was a 3 pack of undies from K-mart. It’s been a lot easier than we anticipated, we had clothes swap nights, went to markets (my tip is Sunday Camberwell market) and I am now a total op-shop queen and love the challenge- most amazing find was pair of jimmy choo boots in a suburban op shop! So, I will be wearing them this winter along with the other great finds and clothes swapped with friends. But, I would love a new Metallicus trench coat after seven months of retail deprivation, it looks absolutely beautiful and perfect for crazy Melbourne weather!

Ahh my winter wardrobe will be more channelling of me with more clothing on than in summer HOORAY! I look so much more elegant with clothes on makes me happy!

After being flood bound in country Qld and having to move out of my home for 2 months, single mum for the same amount of time, dealing with nits, school sores, migraines, vomiting wogs, am in desperate need of a bit of fluffing up!!!! We are now home, but while we were away, the house “grew” a life of it’s own, and it’s still taking a lot of work to get back to normal. Last week I found three baby mice (dead) in my scarf drawer!!!!! Noice. No garden…..all dead. Looks like a fire has been threw it. Sounds like I’m whingeing, but am just recounting how it was. Would love “something” to remind me that I’m still alive!

HI, I’m 57 years old. A difficult time in your life when it comes to being a modern woman. First of all there are the physical limitations namely a middle age spread and it always feels like someone put the air con to heat instead of cool! I want to express myself and I want to look sexy but not in the same way as you younguns. I think my intelligence and vitality is the sexiest part of me now and that can last for ever.
So for me this winter it’s color for fun, flattery & fashion, stretch for comfort and layering for versatility and self expression. I can hardly wait for winter.

I’ve just transferred uni’s from sunny, balmy Lismore to four-seasons-in-one-day Armidale. So i am madly trawling sales racks, ebay and vinnies for warm, comfy jackets, flat boots and bright coloured scarfs I can wear during the cold, colder and coldest winter months in the New England. As a uni student my budget doesn’t really allow room for new clothes. A Metallicus jacket would be a great and stylish start to my winter wardrobe.

Have just started to wear Metalicus and I am loving the comments from my hubby who tells me how sexy I look in Metalicus clothes. The coat is a great piece to add to my wardrobe for winter dressing.

I am thinking of a boyfriend cable knit cardi – something that is oh so warm and cozy to snuggle up in winter. I’m also looking for some really cute knit dresses: maybe a little winter floral, stripes or nordic prints. And of course, pair this outfit with some lace up boots or maybe even uggs. I can’t wait to find all these pieces and I absolutely can’t wait for winter to wear them! Mmmm I just LOVE winter <3

A great winter coat – mid length in mulberry I’m going for soft ‘purple’ tones this winter to complement all the black & chocolate.

With a new bub I cant wait to be snuggly with him, while being able to look MILF in a second as we are always running late out the door. Hmmm, I wonder if a new Metalicus Trench will help me do that…

mmmm i’m thinking about these BOOTS that were made for walking.
I’ve just gone back to Uni as a postgrad student – and after years of placing my feet delicately under my desk at work, they just can’t handle all this walking about uni. Can’t wait to rid myself of blisters and slip into a cosy pair of boots…
and you know what goes best with boots? A trench!
And you know what goes best with my uni student budget? Free stuff!

ha ha i love this! i remember when i was a uni student, saving all my money to buy that one item of clothing i had my eye on…it’s tough to be a trendy student isn’t it?

I’m thinking about being able to wear my black crochet beanie whenever I’m having a bad hair day. Love the excuse to be able to cover my hair when I just can’t deal with it!!!

Im looking forward to wearing my wedding dress!! We are getting married in Fiji, so shouldnt be cold!
Also, my budget (due to the wedding) has limited me to NOT adding ANYTHING (can not shop for months!!) to my winter wardrobe, so a trench would be wonderful!!!

I can’t wait to pull out my beautiful leather boots, jeans and coats! Never thought I would say I’m sick of wearing dresses, but when its this cold, I can’t wait!! Oh Melbourne weather!

i love this pic!!

What I am thinking about in my winter wardrobe is scarfs & tights with long boots. I love my long boots, always a key to feeling sexy in winter. Metalicus makes that so easy too. I love metalicus and would love a sexy trench to compliment my boots!

I had to throw my first trench away this year because I got green ink on it ( I still have no idea how that happend ) .
I want to have a classic winter look. I remember my mum wearing a classic trench , nice stockings and shoes and just looking polished. I want to wear nice chic scarfs and channel the European look.
I have started to wear stay ups as well , they make me feel like I have a little sexy secret ! Oh and red lipstick as well.
I love winter !

If only i was a size 6…

You don’t have to be ! ( I am not either ) a trench looks sexy on everyone

Oh what the heck. May as well throw my hat into the ring.
Um, I imagine my winter wardrobe will be much the same as last year and the year before…in Rutsville!
Why vote for me? Well it would cheer me up as I’m down in the dumps today as (1) my work sucks, (2) my hubby is in Sydney on a buck’s weekend leaving me with the two littlies (3) I am experiencing a Big Chill with my mother and (4) the freaking freezing winter we endure in Canberra is yet again fast approaching.
What would cheer me up more would be to snuggle into a soft, beautifully cut, deep coloured trench coat every winter’s day before stepping out the door and head first into whatever that day will bring. That would cheer me up no end!

Things have really changed in my life this year. After being retrenched and deciding to go back and do a Master’s degree in my mid 30s with two small kids at home I am looking forward to looking through my wardrobe to find some of my older clothes that can be updated. I’ll need find creative ways to dress them up and make them current (hopefully by adding a Metalicus Trench coat!) I can’t afford to buy much in the way of new clothes but the Master’s degree will let me finally live out a dream after so many years of waiting.

good-luck with the masters!

Metalicus and Me …. part of our friendship is that Metalicus simply doesn’t let me down … regardless of season or event, I can trust my Metalicus items to do their thing – I feel good – and I love the colours. Fantastic for travelling. Planned or in a hurry, pull out a top, sleeves, leggings…whatever …and off I go…. but I don’t have a Trenchie. Keep one for me pleeesssse

I hate the cold of winter! Maybe Metalicus would cover me with warm flattering and trendy clothes. I love the new collection and look forward to layering to hide the effects of older age. I live in an old and cold Australian country house and love beautiful fabrics. Go Metalicus! You and me need to connect.

I love love love love Metalicus. I have worn it through all of my pregnancies including my recent pregnancy with twins (and I was HUGE!!) But, as usual, Metalicus rose to the occasion and made me look and feel beautiful yet warm and oh so cozy! I now have 4 gorgeous children and a hectic life and metalicus makes it so super easy to look and feel good. I have many skirts, cardis and dresses with I mix and match and I have been eyeing off a few more pieces including the gorgeous trench!

this got me excited and I just got online and purchased 3 new pieces!!

Having lived in the tropics all my life I love being able to snuggle up into soft and scrunchy layers. The Metalicus range really suits my way of dressing. This year I am going to get a chance to really snuggle into lots of layers on a trip to Europe. How perfect would it be to wear that great jacket/blanket and the Metalicus trenchie and show off a great Aussie product. Both of these are high on my must buy list, but winning the trenchie would leave me spare cash for a few other Metalicus goodies.

aaaaaaaaah! Just the name Metalicus warms my heart..I bought way too much from a little boutique in Kingscliff NSW. I love it, adore it but alas don’t have a trenchie. I love to layer it and a Metalicus trenchie would be the perfect winter warmer! Cheers, Erica

I’ve always loved shopping but I’ve decided this winter to be far less of a consumer and try to make do with what I’ve got (mostly!) I’m turning 57 in two weeks but feel 20 years younger and what I wear is important to me. The trick is to look relaxed but still a bit edgy. The Metallicus trench would fit that description perfectly. And … what could be better than supporting a great Australian label!

Winter fashion has always been my favorite! I can hide my pale freckly skin under gorgeous scarves and leggings and long sleeve dresses! I don’t need to worry about getting spray tanned to wear a nice flowing dress and can accessorize with boots, cardigans and jackets!
But for me, this winter is going to be even better, because my first baby is due in July! So, now I’m thinking of outfits to go with my little baby boy…. I’m thinking flat boots, with skinny leans, a breast-feeding singlet top and my very own new METALICUS TRENCH COAT!
loading...
I am looking forward to wearing gorgeous stretchy tops and dresses to show off my beautiful baby bump! Pregnancy is such a glorious time for fashion, everything looks good!
My daughter was born in Summer so I CANNOT wait to experience Winter heavily pregnant. It will be my most special Winter ever
loading...
For my winter wardrobe I am thinking…DENIAL. I mourn the end of summer and really dislike winter, so it is denial all the way for me!!!!

Thanks Sharon, I have your email address now so I have taken it out of your comment. xx

Well right now I’m thinking of a Metallicus Trenchie.
More specifically, trenchie over a summer dress, for autumn picnics in the park.
Then trenchie with some boots for sloshing in the autumn rain.
Maybe a trenchie over sme layers to sip some wine and watch the sun go down to bring in winter.
A bit further on I’m thinking trenchie and a beanie and big snuggly scarf for the biting cold while watching the footy in the dead of winter.
Trenchie, trenchie, trenchie- now I can’t think of anything else. Apart from the amazing winter that is about to come…
loading...
I’ve just moved back to the super cold, so am going to have to find some very very warm leggings to go under my dresses. But mostly, i will be in jeans, jeans, jeans.
I’m also desperate for a few pairs of boots (at least one pair knee high – mostly for warmth).
I find that layers and layers of tops and jumpers make my already Pamela Anderson-esque chest look gigantic, so a wonderful new jacket could definitely help me not look quite so ‘over-inflated’ and perhaps reduce the liklihood of me being mistaken for a human buoy.

I love winter dressing. All about dresses, tights, boots and scarves. Love, love, love my boots.
I can’t afford to buy any new winter clothes this year though because I am going to London for a month in June – for an internship for my Masters degree. It’s going to be super expensive (plus my expensive degree) but it’s a great opportunity so I’m taking out a loan to be able to afford it which means no spending money on clothes for a while…
I would love a new trench though, mine are all a few years old. Luckily I love winter clothes so much (as well as pretty summer dresses that look awesome with tights) that I have a fairly full wardrobe so I should manage to make it through winter with no clothes purchases. It will be hard though. I love Metalicus but their clothes are a little out of my price range. If I could afford it, I would buy their whole range!
