Stick blush: the surprising reason this one works

When you’re at the make-up counter of a department store, it often feels like every brand is shouting for the attention of the very fair or the golden tanned. It means that for olive-skinned types such as myself, it often feels like the only fun available to you is a mascara.

Eyeshadows, blushes, lipsticks, nail polishes – all the frivolous and therefore most exciting items are reserved for the women with Snow White complexions. Which is where my beauty saviour, lover of girls with tan but not golden toned skin, Clinique comes in.

The product I am loving most right now is their Blushwear Cream Stick, $43, in the aptly named shade ‘Glow’. It’s an orange-y peach with a hint of gold (that’s the colour Clinique should probably add to the product description) and it is such a good every-day colour for my half-Indian, half-Caucasian skin.

It feels really gorgeous as it goes onto your skin – so much so I have a tendency to put a little too much on (do as I say, not as I do, friends!). It blends well with foundation, BB cream or powder and is such a generous size it could easily last 4 or 5 months if you’re not a heavy makeup user.
