Not even Charlize Theron's house can escape 'the Frozen effect'.

Charlize Theron’s son is as obsessed with his favourite toy as your child is.

In news that will no doubt offer some comfort, your child isn’t the only one with an insatiable Princess obsession. Hollywood mum Charlize Theron is suffering through it with you.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show, the South African actress revealed her two-and-a-half-year-old son Jackson is joined at the hip to his favourite toy: a Tinkerbell doll.

Charlize, 38, told host Jimmy Fallon that thanks to the phenomenon of Frozen, Jackson is “really into princesses now”.

"And I know this is not just my son, so you can all act really cool about it...," she added when the audience began laughing. Jackson, who Charlize adopted in 2012, was given the Tinkerbell doll by a friend and she has been at his side ever since.

"She's been through it, you know - couple of hair washes and some crayons and the dress doesn't exist any more," Charlize said.

We only hope Jackson doesn't learn the hard way that when Tinkerbell's hair is cut off with scissors, it won't grow back. As we all know, there are a lot of Barbies out there rocking a permanent buzz cut (sorry, Barbie).

If your child has ever been enamoured with a particular toy, you'll also appreciate the way Charlize ensures Jackson's other toys get their share of love.

"Sometimes Tinkerbell has to 'take a trip' just to give the other toys a chance. Tinkerbell 'goes to Africa' a lot," she confesses. "'Mama, where's Tinkerbell?' 'She had to go to Africa this week, so let's play with the other toys!'"

See? Even celebrities tell their kids little white lies sometimes.
