The 33-year-old Beautiful singer has had a huge week of life-changing news.
Just six days ago, Christina announced her engagement to long-term boyfriend Matthew Rutler – via Instagram, obviously. He got down on one knee in a tropical paradise location on Valentine’s Day, after three years of dating.
And today, Christina’s announced that she’s pregnant with her second baby.
You could say… She’s a genie in a bottle, and Matthew rubbed her the right way.
But seriously, for anyone thinking the engagement came conveniently close to the baby news, apparently fiance Matthew had been planning his proposal for months – long before they found out they’d be having a child together.
This is Christina’s second baby. She shares custody of six year old Max with her ex-husband Jordan Bratman (who she married in 2005 in a forest at sunset near a tent, and divorced on Valentine’s Day 2011).
Christina and Matthew met on the set of 2010 definitely real, definitely happened movie Burlesque. She was “acting” alongside Cher and he was the production assistant. As in, yes, Christina Aguilera fell for a total mortal. Bless.
They currently live together in a super sweet pad on legendary Mulholland Estates home in Los Angeles which she bought for $10 million last year.
With baby #2 on the way, engagement ring on the right finger, and a second go at married life on its way… well, it’s time for Christina – the artist formerly known as Xtina – to hang up her butt-less chaps.
The time has come for Xtina to pass on her leather, butt-baring chaps to a younger, crazier pop star. Like a naughty baton in a popstar relay race.
Miley Cyrus appeared on stage last night wearing leather chaps with no pants, in homage to Xtina’s look during her raunchiest phase. And Christina was only too happy to see them out of her wardrobe…
You might not want to believe it, but it’s been a full twelve years since Christina Aguilera slipped into those butt-less chaps for the song Dirty.
Yep, 12 whole years.
