The 18 most memorable big-screen beauty moments in cinematic history.

Growing up, my sisters and I would attempt to recreate the hair and makeup we saw in movies.

We would experiment with our mother’s makeup collection, applying lipstick as we saw it on Julia Roberts, and copying the winged eyeliner of Audrey Hepburn.

Most memorably, after seeing 10 Things I Hate About You and falling in love with Larisa Oleynik’s hairstyle, my sister was discovered in front of our bathroom mirror, with a pair of scissors still in her hand, sporting her very own brand new fringe.

Aside from DIY haircuts, not much has changed now we're adults.

There’s something so magical about ‘beauty moments’ created in films — they’re instantly iconic, and they manage to stick with you for years after the credits roll. The very best ones can transport you to a certain time and place, reminding you of a particular quotable line or of an old favourite scene.
