Listen up, Australia. It's time we put America first.

American President Donald Trump’s pledge to put “America first” has prompted countries around the world to lobby for second place.

The phenomena began after a Dutch television show screened a satirical video that explained why The President should consider The Netherlands to be their runner-up.

The original clip parodied the political leader in a self-mocking satire that listed some of the iconic aspects of the Dutch nation: the tax policy, a pony park, their feminine landscape and their racist Christmas tradition of Black Pete. A tradition where Dutch people wear blackface and hand out treats to children.

“It’s the most offensive, the most racist thing you’ve ever seen,” A Trump-impersonating voice-over says.

“You’ll love it. It’s great.”

We decided that in light of our Prime Minister’s negotiations going a bit sour, we should make a case for Australia to snag that spot of second.

The video playing above captures some of our nation’s best assets, worst assets and undeniably racist history.

It’s terrific. You’ll love it.

Here is the original parody video created by the team behind the Dutch program “Zondag met Lubach” (“Sunday With Lubach”).

Just in case it wasn’t obvious, this is satire. But it’s true that Australia does have very big bananas.
